Can anyone tell me whay he's on the Tigers roster much less pitching in a game of this importance? The second he came in I knew it was bad news for the Tiges......

He was terrible in the 6th...why Leyland left him in for the 7th with 2 lefties coming up made no sense.

Miner has had a pretty nice season. He has come in during the middle innings in quite a few games this summer and bailed out the Tigers starter.

But he was obviously lost when they brought him in in the 6th

He sucks but then again so do the Tiges after this epic collapse! You know you have no relief pitching when your closer is forced to pitch 4 innings.

there is a possibility that Rodney would have pitched another 3 innings if the Tigers could have held them.... Still this thread should not be about Miner, it should be about if Leyland should come back.....I think the game has passed him by...

Oh yeah, maybe Raburn needs his own thread, as not only did he misjudge not jumping to grab that home run by Cabrera in the 7th, but he then misjudged a pop up in the 10th that allowed tying run to get to third....

    Yep I am mad...

JL pulled porch way too early.

This is a pretty big choke job by the Tigers.

Miner is an average pitcher. Average pitchers will never perform well in big games. However, I don't think you can pin the blame on him. Tigers had so many chances to win the game. I agree with Dre over on the Tigers Chat thread: Leyland has to pin the blame on himself. Three games up with four to play? That is an epic collapse.

I feel bad for Ilitch. I think he is 80 now. I would love if he got a World Series ring sometime soon.

This team has folded in pressure-packed situations. I'll never get over the 2006 World Series when several Tigers pitchers threw th ball around the yard. Worst-played World Series by the eventual loser I've ever seen.

Too many errors out of Raburn, but he has a strong arm. For the life of me why is Dontrille still pitching? They need to make him the left fielder for as much money as they are paying him. He can hit the ball and he should be able to hit atleast 250 in the American League and hit atleast 6 or 7 homeruns a year.

Perhaps Curry found a new job (e.g., Taco Bell) and WW wants him fired from it.

JL saved JV for the 1st Yank game but if you don't win @ Minn there is no tomorrow. JV or Gally or EJ or all three should have seen some time @ Minn.

Verlander threw 121 pitches on Sunday. He wasn't going to pitch on Monday against the Twins, or even Tuesday or Wednesday against the Yankees. He would have pitched in Game #3 at the earliest.

T-dat. It seems to me that Raburn was able to deflect some of the criticism by throwing out the runner at the plate that same inning. The thing is they should have been out of that inning way before that happened and he was the main reason. I do agree however that Leyland has made some very questionable calls this year and they seem to come at the worst time.

There are probably 20 decisions that you could second-guess in that game. Some ideas may have worked. Some would have made things worse. We'll never know. Irregardless, the way the season ended was sickening.

If he had finished the 6th and allowed a a grand slam, would you have admitted you were wrong, or would you have flip-flopped and just said that JL should have pulled him after that one run?

JV could have pitched the 12th and Jackson the 13th if needed to hold serve until the Tigers could load the bases again without Laird on deck...:yellowprison::)...Rodney had not pitched more than 3 innings the whole year, so you know the Tigers Rolaids man would eventually give up a walk or cheap hit that would eventually come around the bases and end the game if the Tigers had not already scored in the top half of the inning.

If the Twins get swept on Sunday, then the Tigers blown first place collapse would be even more disheartening..
