I have been reading blogabull messages and there is an overwhelming consensus that they want Hinrich back in Chicago.

As long as Rodney Stuckey is your off-guard, a guy like Andre Miller will never work.
The Palace maintenance staff wouldn't even have to bother painting a three point line on the court.

My top three free agents would be:
    1. Williams (Williams/Stuckey/Knight would be an amazing guard rotation)
    2. Humphries (scoring/rebounding machine)
    3. Garnett (great tutor for Monroe/Draft Big)
Now, if you're talking about targets, I wouldn't waste my time trying to court any of those three because there's no way they'd come here for value. And you're not going to get any restricted free agents, because nobody is going to let their top-tier restricted free agents go without any great unrestricted free agents to target. This, really gets to the heart of the problem - the unrestricted free agent class this year SUCKS. My top three targets, then, would be these three:

    1. Landry
    2. Hawes
    3. Bass

Maybe try to pick up Lamar Odom? He and his wife would be really happy in Detroit I would imagine.

Good point. But, he would be an upgrade over Will Bynum.

Walker D Russell Jr.'s father would be an upgrade over Willy-B!

What kind of attitude is that? My goodness, if Joe Dumars followed that line of thinking he would never have been able to sign Ben Gordon a few years ago.

If Joe had the bucks to spend, I believe that the Pistons would have a great opprtunity to sign some guys this offseason. There are enough young players in the league who are in situations where they are stuck behind a vet or just need a better situation with more playing time. The Pistons certainly have playing time to offer. I firmly believe that Joe could add some key pieces if he had the dough.

Joe's leg should be sore from kicking himself right now.

I think Humphries could be a possibility.

Bass is less likely to be cheap and easy. Hawes is a tool.

This is a Gores decision. This is no time to be shy with money. Buy people out. If he thinks he can wait to see if JD can pull this off...then the organization is set back another two years for every year they wait while everyone hums Dixie. And they all expect the final result to at least sound good.

if you count Rip's remaining amount we have close to 30mil tied up in the SG spot next year, thats where all the cap is going. If this team wants to get serious then they have to bite the bullet and amnesty BG's contract.

That would be a start. Trade Tay,CV and JMax if doesn't op out. A solid PG would be just around the corner for me.

I would not target or spend this summer. I think that if we could somehow, someway add Josh Smith to play along side GM, that would be a coup! Max+Villanueva+2013 draft pick for Smith would be SWEET! We then sign him to an extension.
