You could be right...I just hope the weather doesn't throw a kink in your schedule.

Quote by Darth: Actually, the teams also played a world series in 1934 (we lost). I believe Roscoe36 was a bat boy for the Tigers in that one.

Luckily, Darth, the teams are the same but I am 'pretty sure' the players will not be. :pound: :pound: :pound: !!

But seriously, the Tigers and Cards played in '68, as everybody know, but that is only two years after I came to MI from OH to live.

It is not exactly, but it is nearly the same amount of time from '34 to '68 as from '68 to '06. I hope it is not that long before the Tigers get back into the series next time.

I don't think anyone can deny that weather has put a damper on 'The Fall Classic' this year. The introduction of the wildcard series has made the season too long for those in northern climes.

To me...somethings gotta give. Either they start the season a week or two earlier, when things don't matter as much...or they cut the regular season by 10-12 games...or they schedule more doubleheaders.

Unfortunately, none of my scenarios mesh with the marketing & $ signs to those in charge. Instead, we fans are relegated to watching the most important games of the season played in the wet and cold.

Yeah...I know...both teams have to play under the same conditions. IMO...those conditions have become too extreme for the players and the fans in a sport that is supposed to be a summer pastime.

83 win Cards are grinding us up!
Dang young team wilting under the pressure. Too much Nefi influencing the impressionable Inge.

As a follow up to my last post, I'm watching Leyland in the 2nd inning with a couple heaters blowing in the dugout in the background.

for real... man,it's really remarkable that these mucked up throws by the pitchers actually appear to be contagious....

be nice to hold them here in the bottom of the 7th with the top of the tigers order coming up in the top of 8

Tigers have two more innings to score, or there going home. And while there on the plane, they should have pitcher fielding and throwing practice to prevent the unacceptable number of errors they have as a staff.

Its ironic that the Tigers' pitching, which is what has gotten them here, has been their undoing in the Series. Its even more ironic that its been because of their fielding, not their pitching.

Also, how fitting is it that Weaver, the former Tiger, is pitching a gem in the biggest game of his career.

Looks like the playoff tested Cards are showing just how important experience is. Win or lose, this will be great experience for the young Tigers. They'll be contenders for years to come with this pitching staff.

Thank you Detroit Tigers for a terrific year!

    Detroit fans are truly blessed.

The Pistons, Shock, Red Wings and Tigers. All had a great year. Only the Shock finished it right, but you'll get no complaints from me.
