My beloved Phillies (Yea!!!!) take on the despicable Yankees (Boooo!!!). Who are you rooting for? (I already know how LK is voting).
The Phillies can win. Their lineup is deep and can give the Yankees trouble, but they'll need their starters and Lidge to come through. Yanks lineup at worst is as good and they seem to have better starters. This is the best possible series.
No really, I love Philly. I was there at a wedding when the Phillies were in the WS last year and it was a blast. We were all bustin eachother's balls, then we went over the Wawa in Delco for more beer.
Realistically I would rather not see another title going to the state of Pennsylvania....Phillies in 08, Penguins in 08/09, and Steelers in 08/09, but at this point anybody but the Yankees...
2nded I can't stand the Yankees. I also immensely dislike A.J. Burnett for opting out of his contract with the Blue Jays to sign with a division foe. Sure he was perfectly within his rights to do it, but it doesn't mean that I have to like him for it. As much as it pains me to cheer for the same team as Tater Tots, my hatred for all things Yankees trumps it.
We are being inundated with "win one for pops"...that a reference to george steinbrenner...i kid you not. There are so many reasons to hate the Yankees but just because is covers it all.
