I agree. I think Chucky would do a great job of pooring cheese over nachos at the Palace.

I would love to have Atkins back in Piston red white and blue.

However, Chuck apparently wants to play for big money next season, meaning he wants to play big minutes, which the Pistons obviously can't offer him.

Still, I have a feeling Chuck would - at least - field offers from Detroit.

    But then what about Arroyo?

How is It dumb? Chucky would bring much needed shooting off the bench and a guy who can bring instant offense. Certainly more useful than Arroyo's offensive game. Chucky also wouldn't hold onto the ball for 15 seconds before trying to do something.

Chucky Atkins is on the top of my most hated Pistons list. I don't understand why anyone thinks he is any good as a backup. He never did &&&& as a backup except brick wide open 3's and play worse D than Arroyo's pregnant wife. The only time he played well was when he started.

We have no room to sign Chucky unless someone is cut or traded away.

I would take Chucky over Arroyo anyday and twice on Sunday. I can't stand Arroyo's over dribbling of the ball and his selfishness jacking up very bad shots at awkward angles. Chucky is not great but is serviceable and has played with most of these guy's before so the chemistry would not be upset to much if he was brought back into the mix.

    I'm with him...:amen:

There was nothing worse than watching Atkins go behind screen after screen after screen and get beat for wide open 3's IN CRUNCH TIME. Get posted up and relentlessly give up 3pt plays. Toss wide open J's off the side of the rim, then have the audacity to run back down court with his wrist cocked back after hitting his first 3 since before the All-Star break.....of 1997.

Dang. Talk about the grass is always greener. Take a look at your side of the fence man. You got the best lawn in the neighborhood! Picking up Chucky Atkins would be like purposefully planting weeds on your property. It's just stupid.

Re: I'm with Dave & Low

Yes, Chucky would bring scoring, but he brings a lot of other negatives with him as well.

    1. Poor defense, although Arroyo's not much better, but at least he's over 6'.

    2. Can't spell assist.

    3. Can't run the offense. Ok, Arroyo does overdribble, but I'll take that over the Chuckster.

Finally, Chucky's ego is way bigger than his game, and he becomes a cancer on the bench.

I liked Chucky when he was here in the early days, so no hate here, but I don't think we want him back.

Advanatage with Chuckie ( if Arroyo could then be moved ) is Pistons would not have to pay him 12 mil over the next 3 seasons.

How is that an advantage? We are going to be over the cap for a long time to come no matter how much our backup PG makes. Oh well, Chucky got picked up so who cares anymore?

I posted a rumor in the Piston Jan Articles section that Chukie is interested in playing for the Pistons this season.

Chucky at PG... Hunter at SG... and Evans at SF.... that would make for some long game summaries from Lee.

I just looked over www.hoopshype.com and it looks as if Chucky is looking to come back to Detroit if Dumars would have him. Although I would love to have him, I would not move anyone at this point. At one time I considered moving Darko, but we would get no one to replace him. Now, the only reason I would move Darko is so he would be able to develope. Although, Chucky lit us up in the loss to the Wizards ( the only game I came to Detroit to see at the hoop city grille), I am not convinced that he is any better than Arroyo. He will get plenty of playing time in Memphis.
