If the Pistons starting 5 were stuck in Oz and had to ask the Wizard for wishes...what should they ask for? My thoughts: Rip - A consistent 3 point shot Big Ben - Free throw accuracy (of course)and a more polished post game Chauncey - Total Recall of what it means to play the right way throughout the season Tayshaun - Agressiveness on Offense Rasheed - Controlled Temper And for the munchkins.... Darko - Confidence and playing time Dyess - A couple more seasons of good knees Delfino - Heart and Defense Davis - Just an opportunity for the championship will suffice Arroyo - Defense and the ability to give up the ball earlier Hunter - A jump shot in the playoffs and Kander's number on speed dial Evans - Total Recall of why Joe signed him in the first place (Dupree FORGOT this last year) Max - Opportunity and Patience Acker - Opportunity and Patience Amir - Opportunity and Patience
oh.. simply means that I don't want him to forget what made him so successful last seaon since LB won't be there to yell at him from the bench.
Chauncey is mentally tough and confident. He has been there before and was successful. If he doesn't know what it takes to win, I don't know who does.
Chauncey will be okay as long as he doesn't start jacking up bad shots. Take your three point shots within the flow of the offense and don't force a shot that is not there. If he does that he should be fine.
How How! CB needs to keep running the "O". I worry about Flip ball. His guards always shot too much for my liking. If you are Isiah Thomas, you can get away with that. CB is not Zeke.
Ah.. yes Zeke was the man. He was so underated as a point guard. The only guy in the league with a similar game to him right now is Iverson. AI has more offense than Zeke had but Zeke had the better passing skills. As far as Chauncey goes I share your concern however it is Flips job to make sure Chauncey does not go a stray. If Chauncey has not learned that him and Rip doing all the scoring does not win us many games then I don't know what will. It is a proven fact that when the ball is spread around we win. Flip has a blueprint for success. It is documented and proven. Flip should only make slight tweaks. If he screws it up his employment with the Pistons will be very short.
wizard If the Pistons starting 5 were stuck in Oz and had to ask the Wizard for wishes...what should they ask for? Rip - triple double rip back in effect. Big Ben - play like it's a contract year. dpoy Chauncey - offensive aggressiveness in the other 3 quarters Tayshaun - 3 point bombs like at kentucky Rasheed - more free throws than 3's attempted bench players Darko - confidence to play own game. shoot the 3, perfect the jump hook, block shots, rebound strong, throw dimes, put up 30 against the knicks, cuss out lb in serbian if that's what they call the language over there Dyess - 6th man of the year Delfino - cuss lb out in spanish against NY, offensive aggressiveness Davis - accept role and playoff toughness and get ring Arroyo - make the second team better Hunter - remembers to only stop the other team from scoring Evans - foul wade and ginobli real hard dupree - foul wade and ginobli real hard Max - foul any sf that wants to body tay real hard Acker - run the nbdl Amir - run the nbdl
Sadly I do not think you will see triple double threat Rip again. That was an LB thing. Prepare for the Wally Szcerbiak threat Rip.
Be Careful What You Wish For Rip - That his batteries don't run down Bib Ben - No personal injuries or family fatalities this year Sheed - A guaranteed pledge from Rod Thorn that Sheed won't have to lay out any dough this year for his Ts The Prince - 25 lbs of muscle C-Bill - That the Pistons go undefeated against the Knicks this year Dyess - More miracles from Arnie K. Davis - That his body forgets how old it is. Evans - That there is Mo to his game than there is to his name. CA - Zone defense while he is on the court Delfino - A hot line to the world's leading orthopedic doctor. Dupree - An outside shot DMC - A wife Maxiell, Johnson and Acker - A seat on the Pistons bench rather than on the taxi squad. Saunders - That every writer and sports announcer in Michigan forget that LB coached the Pistons. Joe D. - At least one more successful draft pick beside The Prince Arnie K. - The latest and greatest in wellness equipment in his training room. The Piston Team - Safe flights on Mr. Ds plane and another world title. Mr. D. - That he and Zeke kiss and makeup Zeke - A playoff team that gets knocked out before they play the Pistons. Dyess: Strong knees and the health holds up Davis: A ring Evans: His opportunity to shine off the bench with consistent production Dupree: His chance to be higher on the depth chart for the chance to contribute Arroyo: Defense Delfino: Fit in Ack: To do whatever it takes to carry over that preseason game into the regular season. ME: THat the PiSTONS win the Championship so I can shove it to everybody who picks on me coz I cheer for the Pistons.
RIP: A shot of whisky to calm his nerves in an NBA Finals series. CB: A reversing warning alarm to attach to his shorts, for all the guards he should be backing down Sheed: Some black hair dye Tay: A tape of that Kentucky game Ben: Some confidence at the charity stripe The bench already got its wish: LB is gone...
CB: To be the most effecient PG in the league. (I mean 20pts on 8 shots with 6 dimes and no TO's in just incredible folks.) Rip: To realize that STRENGTH and CONDITIONING is not just conditioning. That will solve the 3pt shooting wish. Tay: To look at every player in the NBA the way he looks at Mike Dunleavy Jr. Sheed: 16ppg & 9+rpg. Ben: A mid range shot to keep the defenses honest. Arroyo: Foot speed. Delfino: Lateral movement. MoEvans: A chip on his shouler the size of the Golden Nugget. Dyess: Strong, Healthy knee. Darko: For his skills to turn into GAME. With that "J" he's either the next Shawn Marion or Darius Miles, let's hope it's the former and not the latter. Lindsey: To make a wide open spot up jumper.
great post. lol i'm soooo glad lb is gone now we can have a full team. i don't know why some people feel that after lb is gone all the pistons will just revert to what they were doing before he was here.
