vs Washington Wizards Friday Dec 21 2012 - 7:30 PM EST Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit, MI TV: FS Detroit RADIO: 97.1FM GO PISTONS!
This game could ultimately havea large ping pong ball impact. Here are the current standings: 1. Wizards 3-20 2. Cleve. 5-22 3. Hornets 5-20 1 GB 4. Pistons 7-21 1.5 GB The Wizards have lost 5 straight. The Pistons have lost 6 straight. I'm pretty sure someone has to not lose this game.
We can do it, we have the coach to make this happen...we can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He may have to finally go with the dream lineup of max at center, cv at pf, daye sf maggette at the sg and bynum at pg...but I have confidence in our coach to get us that #1 pick so Joe D can wisely get us a thin, but tall sf..that can stretch the defense with his sometimes there jumper. But we will defenitely have to get another washed up veteran to hold down his position for a few years til hes ready to contribute....Go Larry!!!
This is the first game of a back to back home and home series tonight and tomorrow night with the Wiz. A possibility to grab a two game win streak or stretch it out to a 8 game losing streak. If we lose these two, I am officially renaming our coach Lawrence Tank
Funny to read our 7-21 record compared to a 3-20 Whiz team. Laimbeer says we're 1.5 games back from last place. That may be true, but they'll be flowers growin on the hills .................................. before the Whiz gets to 7 wins like us.
Stuckey is feeding Drummond over and over. 3 assists in a row, including a tough alley-oop, and a sick behind the back no-look pass for a dunk.
Wow the Wizards stink. But, we are playing some very good D. Drummond is a beast. All by himself, he is able to maintain a no-fly zone. It's a thing of beauty to watch. Stuckey is playing really well. He fed D at least 3 times. Singler is playing really well too. Lee's gonna kill me for saying this, but he's a better perimeter defender than Daye. He also has a killer instinct when it comes to finishing in traffic. Great stat line in the first half: GM: 10pts/7rebs/3ast/1stl in 15:19 minutes 3/5 FG and 4/5 FT AD: 7pts/8rebs/4blks in 11:09 minutes 3/4 FG and 1/2 FT He also altered 2 shots. If you count those, that's like 6 blocks in less than a quarter worth of play. Amazing, simply amazing.
Andre playin his arse off and Stuckey knows who he needs to feed to keep his minutes up. If he can keep Drummond active by including him on easy bunnys? Dre will continue to beast on the defensive end...Young fella was gassed by the 5 minute mark with all the up and down play no whistles, I really wish Daye had lobbed that last one to Dre on the breakk after he blocked serafin and started the break...Dre was open running the wing and he was lookin to elevate. Monroe seems to have remembered how to use the glass and is starting to look like he did near the end of the season last year. It is also worth noting how quick washington went to the basket when Dre went out. Now we just need to get english some burn and I will smile...
Detroit up by 27 pts halfway through the 3rd. Gotta see some burn for English/Middleton/Slava etc today.
WTFWTFWTFWTF!!!! Slava checks in the game courtesy of the Wizards coach. Stuckey gets hit and can't hit a FT, and the Wiz get to pick the replacement shooter and they go with Slava. He splits the pair, and Frank immediately pulls him out at the first opportunity. WHY OH WHY? We are up 30 pts in the 4th quarter. Just let the kid play. Sheesh!
Pistons have this won. The Drummond Show aside, not exactly exciting but I'll take it. Happily. Andre is so awesome. Seriously. Rodney got whacked on the nose. Let's hope he won't need one of those Rip masks. Edit: hit on the mouth. Anyone remember Big Ben losing a tooth once against Shaq? Tayshaun leading the team in FGA. And he's 3 of 13. Wonder how all those teams (not including NOH) who passed on Dre feel watching him when he plays like this. Kenny and JJ sighting. Krav too. I'm going on holiday tomorrow (no internet most likely) so advance Happy Holidays everyone!
