I'm not saying he's the greatest player, however, he's going at a wholesale price. Would you pick up Michael Olowokandi if he's cut? Yes, the league is trying to speed up the game and go "small ball", but there are still a few trees in the forest that will need chopping down. Are we really going to rely on 'Sheed as a 5? Really!?!

First of all is Kelvin Cato still on the roster??? If so, stat wise, the kandi man is a half inch taller and 5 lbs lighter that the other stiff. He is also 8 months younger. He has been a better rebounder and scorer during his career, but the question is does he have more desire? He looks like he enjoys stting on the bench collecting his check than actually playing.

He provided some assistance to KG when they were together during the 2004 season but not enough to stop Shaq in the WC Finals. But Flips knows him, so maybe a plus there?

He also had some minor success playing against a younger shaq when they were both in LA at the turn of the century, so at least he knows some of his moves.:sssh:

Cato is not on anyone's roster.

As for Kandi, sure, if we trade away Mohammed or Dale Davis. Otherwise we've got enough depth and could just sign a big stiff for the minimum if an injury hit. Sheed is fine against most centers, Dice is fine against most centers, Dale Davis is fine, Mohammed is fine, and Amir and Maxiell can play PF and gain experience if we need it (have to find out if they're any good eventually).

The Pistons may or may not have renounced their rights to Kelvin Cato.

But he is not on the roster.

OK, someone's gotta say it: with DD and The Kandi Man, the Pistons would be 2/5 of the way to having a potential All-Tazered-By-The-Cops unit on the floor at one time.

Good to know that Cato is gone...the question would be who has more upside vs shaq if needed, 37 year old Davis or the 31 year old lazy Kandi-man?

It's low risk for injury insurance... this guy was a decent player three years ago... how does a guy with millions at stake just become lazy?

i would love for the Pistons to pick up Kandi if it weren't for the fact that he has no game at all.

but he could probably do a great Lenny Kravitz impersonation....

I really think too much is made of this guy. He's had one good season.

Although, if they played him with Dale, marketing could call it "The Towers of Power", kinda like the old "Swat Team" T-shirts...

I would not go for anymore than a year with that guy. Just do not know what you are going to get.

Why bother at all? If you need injury insurance toss Amir in there and shift a vet to the C. I mean what are we talking about here? I large body with no game. We got enough of that.

This guy is a bum. A big, giant, lazy bum. I would rather have Darko with his "garbage time" 'tude than this guy. Sheesh!

    (although he did get tazed.)

Wasn't JJ Redick tazered in his DWI/run-in-with-police earlier this year? Rodney White must have been tazered at least once in all of his mischef. I would really like to see us complete an All-Tazer team.

I don't think Reddick was tazed. This article quotes a police spokeswoman as saying, "There wasn't a chase. He didn't run from them. He was pretty cooperative."

Why destroy a great story by bringing up the facts? I hate when people do that.

Sorry to harsh your buzz there, Laimbs.

We might have to bring other sports in, as I can't recall any other taser instances involving NBA players. But, not surprisingly, a quick Google search turned up at least one Cincinnati Bengal tasing incident this past off-season.
