Pistons looked good midway through the first quarter all way up to the end of the second half where a 52-42 Piston lead with 1:09 left in the half turned into a 7-0 run by the Wiz and only a 52-49 lead.

Stuckey did his thing with 18 pts and CV had 10. Pistons also had 14 assists but some how with Flip in the building, the Pistons reverted to their jump shooting ways with 11 three point attempts. (they made only 2)

Hopefully they go back to what was flowing most of the second qtr and not have any 3rd qtr setbacks. Not sure what the issue was as why Ben G only played 7 minutes and took no FG other than the three he was fouled on??

    Final Score Pistons 98 ~ Wizards 94

Pistons had to sweat out a victory that any decent NBA team would have won going away vs the hapless Wizards who did all they could give the game to the Pistons. With Arenas, Jamison, Butler and Boykins, the Wiz should be better than this.

The Pistons survived a bad third qtr with Austin Daye going 5-5 from the floor when the Pistons went big with only a worn out Bynum out there trying to run the show. Stuckey sat out most of the 3rd qtr with fouls and Gordon sat on the bench with his ankle in ice for most of the second half.

CV did a great job "off the bench" with 18 points, but took to many tres going 1-8 from beyond the arc. (Pistons were 4-20 as a team).

JJ played 35 mins and grabbed a 11 boards, but with so many touches you have to hope that he can grab even more as he probably taps more than actually grabs....but if he gets 11 every night then we can't be to upset with him.

Bynum looked like he had played last night as once again his shot was off (3-12) and he even missed a few FT in the waning seconds. Only one of the Pistons 24 assists where as Chucky in less time had 5. In fact big Ben and CV had 5 and 4 respectfully so nice to see the big guys getting involved in the passing game.

3 of 4. Sounds nice. But really, losing a West coast trip is near par for the course. Forget that and the Pistons have been doing just fine this season.

The hero, who got pulled for his efforts, was Daye. Daye personally outscored Washington in his one stretch of minutes which he got early in the 4th quarter. He scored 11, on 5-5 shooting, after Washington had just wiped out our lead and we were looking listless.

Worse, Atkins came in to replace Daye. No sense at all.

Yeah, we won the game, but used little common sense at times. How about not using Daye in the first half when we got two of our guards gimped up? How about Stuckey completely ignoring a wide open Daye, who was in a zone, to get blocked at the basket. Daye scored with a 3 ball, a couple of short jumpers, and maybe a hook or two driving the lane. Pretty impressive. This kid ain't no Tay. He wants to shoot. Stuckey, please give this guy the ball.

Stuckey was the scoring champ for us for the night with 25, on his usual variety of getting to the hoop and the occasional made outside shot. Bynum got double figures, played good D despite that ankle.

Gordon scored a bit, but he too has a bad ankle and did not play much as typical in this one.

CV played heavy minutes, scored 18, did fine on defense. In all, our bench scored about 53 points or so. Pretty darn good. Having CV, and someday a healthy Ben Gordon, not to mention Will Bynum - and a Daye who we will let shoot more - and either Tay or JJ, and. Well, you get the picture, we are going to have one darn potent bench going forward into the season.

Jerebko scored 10,and grabbed 11 boards. His highlight was a reverse where he was well past the hoop when the shot was launched. This guy continuall scraps for, and often comes up with, the ball. Got to mention Daye in that regard too tonight as he was making things happen constantly in his first few minutes tonight.

Yeah, boring. Same old same old. Ben Wallace was a force on defense, as always. But still got to mention it.

JMAX left with some foul trouble in the first half and barely played at all in the 2nd half.

Can't complain about minutes, as JJ was our top minute getter in this one - and he is young, and this ain't no back to back.

Thats about it. Good win. More good D played. The score got run up for both teams at the end with a bunch of foul shooting for us as we never let a decent lead shrink too badly.

PS-They caught up. Daye came on, and we built up a nine point lead again. Atkins came in and the lead went away. Atkins was pulled and the lead grew rapidly. But I am sure there are Atiins fans out there who think its just a coincidence.

    GO PISTONS!!!!!

I caught most of the game despite a blackout.

    Great effort.

Linwood said it best. This isn't a decent team, but they are fun to watch.

Seeing JJ, Max and Ben all crashing the offensive glass on the same series, is exciting.

Chucky actually didnt play too bad at PG against Arenas.

Nice to get another Sunday victory.

Yep it was a GOOD Daye, but you are right, if Q forgets about him, we lose this game... and yep he should have never been pulled for Chucky when he was in that zone....

Too many other variables to make statements like that. Is is that Atkins is starting or that CV is on the bench. Is it that Atkins is starting or that Stuckey can play the 2-guard.I am not saying that the Pistons are not better with Atkins starting, but could we be even better replacing him with Bynum or another vet PG. Watching Atkins specifically as a player I am left unimpressed with his skills.

Bill is probably being facetious. That's the exact kind of analysis many use to justify their pet players starting.

Good draft. Daye and JJ. This is the first time I am really bullish on our youth. I hate to tout rookies with so many pitfalls along the way, but that looks like real talent. Nice win. We really need our key guys back though. Bynum can't be counted on to score these days. So Stuckey, CV and somebody (today Daye), sometimes JJ, has to score. Gordon should stay out until he can move.

What's the word we are looking for? Juggernaut?

Hmmmm...Stuckey, Atkins, and Bynum combined for 37 out of 82 shots. Now your 50% is close, but here comes CV who had 19 shots and here we are at the lone fiqure of 25 shots for the bench. Take away Daye and whoops.

Are we still looking for the Zen master?

Ok how about giving Q credit for pulling Gordon in favor of Daye to go big? I was yelling at the TV for a sub when I saw Ben Gordon trying to check Caron Butler in the post, didn't take long for "Bad Rookie Coach" to get a clue.

You get no argument from me on that one.

That play in particular was probably the absolute worse play of the game and made the case for why Rodney Stuckey shouldn't even be considered a PG.....just thinking of that play infuriates me, it lead to a wide open Boykins three too.......

Good LeeCap, I'd also add that Kwame played a very good game for us tonight, he really battled and made some good plays for us on both ends of the floor. C'mon Lee as much as you whip on him, give him a little credit when he gets it right.
