We have a shortage of bigs that command respect on both ends of the court. In fact, I would say we have zero bigs that command respect on both ends of the court.
Hey, show some respect, that's team MVP CV you are talking about!!! I've never known an NBA team that plays its' MVP 16 minutes when they're getting destroyed by an opposing player who plays the same position, but I am probably getting caught up in the unnecessary details and outdated thinking. Beer is right, forced 3s aren't the answer. But if need be take a step back and launch from there. There was a time in the game where our passing clicked for about 8 plays, right to the hoop. Then Stuck missed Rip and they stopped. But it looked nice for a while.
That is what I was trying to say in my original comment...Ben used to have all the respect in the world, but those days are long gone...and Max has not gotten it yet and the jury is out if he ever will. Bottom line our centers are under 6'10, so their defense is somewhat limited and neither can shoot from the field or the FT line with consistency, which means they start some games playing 3 on 5. Agree with KGREG that our three point shooters need to just start hoisting instead allowing Bynum to slow the O with his penchant of getting his shot first...he must have learned that from the Year one Stuckey
Nothing in the article said anything about MVP. Stop being such a hater. The guy has limitations, but he certainly looks much stronger now that he is healthy this season.
The title of the article is "Charlie Villanueva goes from fan punching bag to being one of the Detroit Pistons' top performers".
