We still need some scoring, but yes, I think this team can compete night in and night out. And that is a lot of fun to watch. I had a blast today, and I only got to see half of the game!
Great game. Won with energy and hustle. If even BG played and had a decent game the Pistons would have buried the Hawks.
When was the last time we had a rebounding margin this big? 53 to 27!!!??? And they shot 50% from the field to our 44%, so nothing unusual there. I have the feeling that some of the young guys on the team are going to take away a lot from Ben Wallace this year. He's showing them how to be a pro with heart.
I'm 1000000% agree with you, man. THANK YOU PISTONS.. THANK YOU. You make my day happier. BUT SPECIALLY Thanks To Big Ben!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charlie Villanueva's nose is broken and according to his twitter page he is going to have surgery tomorrow The Oakland Press Blogs: Pistons' Point: Villanueva suffers broken nose
I like this writeup from hawksdawgs of Peachtreehoops.com: Detroit Pistons 94, Atlanta Hawks 88 or where Ben Wallace makes a concerted effort to out rebound an entire%team - Peachtree Hoops
1. Antonio McD 2. Big Ben 3. CB ^^ True Blue-collar Pistons. I am glad Big B came back, looks like he is just making a point to Joe that he should have paid him the extra shillings back then ;)
nose surgery probably means approximately a week or so rest for the Twitter. Hopefully Bengo will be back soon... This team can't rely on hustle and Fear the Fro only...
Took Stuckey off the point and we looked really good. Need a solid, low cost PG right now, move Stuckey to the SG spot and let's roll.
The Pistons really made the Hawks look very small and out-physicalled them something good. I think the early start helped them. It was shocking when they didn't get 3-4 possessions per trip. I LOL now when Special K mentions that Stuckey might want to start passing when 3 guys converge on him as he drives. Bring back the Big Ben gong!
Atkins shot is pretty rusty. Those were some ugly misses. If Stuckey is best at the 2, then that makes the Ben Gordon signing even more insane.
Take a look at how this season has gone, you can never have too much depth at the 2 spot. Joe is a genius!
Ernie, two observations now during games that you have noticed that really got me going. First, Kwame's FT rotation, and now NO Big Ben gong? What's up with that, did they sell it for cap space? Was it included with Buddinger to Houston? WHERE AND WHY?!
Maybe Joe was counting on Tayshaun to play point forward this entire season... Three thousand, nine hundred, and thirty six minutes of point forward.
Pistons' new lineup helps snap 7-game losing skid | freep.com | Detroit Free Press Ben Wallace is explaining the high offensive rebounding number on "good offensive execution." While this may seem contradictory, his point is that the team took the shots that they were supposed to take, which meant that we had rebounders in position. He must be insinuating that the guards were taking bad shots in prior games and the bigs weren't established.
