Either time to beat a team who looks weak, or
time for Tre Burke to prove his value.

    Pistons 87 - Jazz 90

I would love to agree with you.....but I am on the fence here. IMO the only must win games this week are Friday and Saturday.

Friday to show the Bad Boys that you have some pride and Saturday to help the Sixers set the new loss record.

When was the last time we beat Utah in their arena?

The year was 1951, and father had just bought a new tractor for the farm.

Jazz were in full tank mode early, falling behind 25 points to the Pistons. Don't look now, though, as Utah has cut the lead to 12 with a few minutes left in the 3rd.

Just when you thought or maybe hoped that Pistons were packing it in and gunning for a guaranteed draft pick, they do something out of the ordinary ...get a big a lead and hold on to win it. It was one of those games where the Pistons were able to jump to a big lead in the second quarter, hold a half time lead of 20 and then despite going up as much as 25 and then letting the lead fall as low as 12, they finally win by 20 >>> 114 to 94. Every Piston that played, with the exception on Siva scored, but Peyton did deliver the final assist.

The Pistons bench outscored the Jazz bench 46-17. The Pistons out boarded the jazz by 20 and Josh Smith finally made a free throw (2-4).

Jennings and teen wolf dropped 8 and 9 assists.

The 12 year losing streak in SLC is now over. The 13 game losing streak on the road....is now over. Our lead over the Cavs is back down to a half game. With our late season lottery luck, we will probably beat the Cavs on Wednesday, the Heat on Friday and then embarrass ourselves with a loss on Saturday to the Sixers. At this point....we need a loss Wednesday, a win Friday and win on Saturday and then an 0 for April.

Nice writeup, but you forgot to mention the two most significant plays. One, Singler got his second foul, and the coach sat him. This triggered a major run to put us up 20. Then, in the 2nd half, after the lead fell to just 12, Singler was taken out of the game. This triggered another major run where we put the game away.

Of note, JJ played a whole lot of small forward, and gave us a real nice rebounding advantage from that position. He also played a bit of power forward, a disastrous stretch for us so that Singler could get some small forward minutes.

Oh, JJ did play some power forward in the first half, quite successfully, with Pope as the small forward.

Jennings was hot on his outside shooting. No follow up from that right finish from the right from a couple games back. Again though, he could have scored easily inside on one occasion, if he was more comfortable finishing with his right from the right.

Drummond made some shots that were more than just putbacks. Baby hooks I guess you call them. 19-14 game.

Stuckey helped finish them off with some good outside shooting. Made Burke look pretty bad there. Burke was out there in GT to pad his stats a bit. Pretty awful game for him.

Siva and Mitchell got a bit of GT. Siva got the ball to Mitchell inside. Mitchell got fouled and made his free throws.

PS, just Philly, which at this point can you really count as an NBA team? , but Daye had a great game against them tonight making 6 threes. Also of note around the league, Milwaukee competed well with the Clips in the first half, with a new starting lineup where they put Adrien as a starter (about time), while also moving Sessions into the starting unit. (Also, about time.)

Pope had one his best games in a while....still shot under 50%, 4 for 9 is not as bad 2-10.....He needs to think more about taking the short jumper that maybe more in his range and wait until the summer to practice that 3 pt hoop. 13 points, got to the FT line 5 times and had a team high +19.....not that it means anything.

To everyone suggesting the Pistons tank the season away, the Pistons just beat a WC team by 20 on the road.

The team looked like it was lifted and energized by Gores recent public praising.

The Hawks have lost 3 in a row.....and the Pistons are now 5.5 back with 12 games to go.....and 3 games behind the Knicks.....if they win out this week (over the Cavs, Heat (Bad Boy night) and over the D league Sixers and take themselves out of the protected pick, then they would probably need to win out....or at least win 10 of 12.

I quoted Dre, who already mentioned Bynum had a bunch of assists. Remember, praise can only be so high against a poor team like Utah. I think Dre praised him just enough, so I did not need to add any.

Bynum had 9 assists in like his first 10 minutes. That's craziness.

I miss the days of deciding which Flip Saunders Picture to use as my avatar during the playoff run.

Some of Drummond's finishes around the basket were ridiculous.

He was reminding me of an in his prime Ben Wallace with the power he was playing with last night.

I love hearing the other teams announcers blurt out something like, 'Wow, Drummond is a beast!', when he snares a rebound.

He mauls the basketball sometimes when he grabs offensive boards, like a grizzly bear going after a fish.
