This probably could have fit into another thread but since its slow...

Seems like that old negative attitude from the summer is starting to popup again. it was fun for awhile but next season is just about to start and thats not a good way to start it.

    Basically you have 2 choices.

    1) You can clench your fists whenever you see Piston games, Grit you teeth whenever you see Flip and constantly wish Ben was still on the team.

    2) Or you can try to enjoy next season. Give the francise the benifit of doubt that they had reasons for doing what they did, accept the new players and move on. We still have one of the top teams.

    Max, I see a 3rd option.

You can clench your fists whenever you see Piston games and give the franchise the benefit of doubt that they had reasons for doing what they did, accept the new players and move on.

I vote for option two with some occasional teeth grinding.

Whats wrong with gritting teeth and complaining? At least people care. The worst thing is if the pistons are boring on a lot of levels. I'm going to cheer and b!tch. Get ready for the rollercoaster ride

I agree with Roscoe and Slippy. I'm not planning on dwelling on the past, but I'm also not going to just sit back and let whatever happens happen.

When we win I'll be happy, when we lose I'll be mad, when we play poorly I'll be pissed and when Flip twitches, so will I.

At the start of every year I always have high expectations. So we will see. If things are not smooth then I am sure I will be joining you guys.

I'm already over it. Its done. Ben's gone, Flip is still here, we're underdogs again, make the most of it.

The start of a new season is always exciting, time to let it go. Ben is now on a rival team. Thanks for the memories, but thats all they are now.

When he scores now at the palace, instead of hearing the gong and a 'B-B-B-Buh... Ben WALLACE!!', its going to be, 'ben. wallace.'

The pistons offense is boring. I like that that rip curl but it gets monotonous. mid-range...mid-range...long range...mid range. I wish we had a penetrator to shake things up a little. or just if we all attacked the basket without charging. I'm hyped for preseason games. you'll get to see jmax and delfino do their thing

CB and Flip. The season goes as these two go. Good decisions by both and we will be fine.

So many questions. Will Flip really insist on this zone defense? Will the players actually listen?? Will CB repeat the MVP season of last year, as I know he would like too?

Will Delfino really get more playing time - If he is producing after a few games, or not?

I honestly believe we will be ok, however, how far we will go being ok depends on, hell I don`t know what it depends on let`s just start the season............

Part of the fun is the tensions, riding the emotional rollercoaster of every missed shot, every bad call, every turnover.

    Nice one. LOL.

And AJ. And maybe even a little Will Blalock.

I agree. There are SO many questions about this team going into this season. It should be exciting to see how the team answers them.

    Webz..that's funny. lol.

    Personally I'm ready to:
    • embrace the new players
    • get pumped up about our rookies
    • cheer silently for Ben until he plays the Pistons
    • see just how smoothly this offense can run with a team of solid free throw shooters and no offensive liabilites
    • complain everytime I see a free pass to the basket

Hopefully Sheed gets his @$$ in the post. I think the offense will be alot more eciting this season. You'll see the Chauncey 3's, and Rip curls. Look for more Chauncey and Rip drives to the basket. Tayshaun is ready to step up. We should see his number called alot next season. Tayshaun will get drives and alley oops and that will be exciting. If Sheed didn't post up because Ben's man doubled. We'll see Sheed taking it to his guy as well. Hopefully this time the team doesn't slack off. If they don't The Pistons might be in a better situation than last year.

Personally I am excited about the coming season. The Pistons will finally have a center who can be considered an offensive threat.

It will be exciting to see Mad Max (MM) and Airborne Amir (AA) develop their games.

I'll take option #3. What's important this year is to figure out who on the bench is a keeper and who among the starters can regain their hunger. I'm living with Flip and his anti-Pistons DNA garbage this season with the expectation of a purge and remodelling next offseason.

The first game with the Bucks should tell it all. Are we gonna win more than 48 games??
