    Let's see...

    I've heard/read:

    1) I've read that Josh Smith and/or Gerald Henderson are on our wish-list (and that we're looking for a SF in general). Even if it doesn't happen at the deadline, perhaps telling for the off-season?

    2) I've read that we're interested in J.J. Redick. I like the idea (John Barry 2?).

    3) There seems to be some interest in expiring Will Bynum. I've heard him for Eric Maynor.

    4) I heard that we were offered - and turned down - a deal for DeJuan Blair. Sounds like a stupid thing to do? I wonder what the offer was?

    5) There seems to be a lot of interest in Rodney Stuckey. Terrific news - I hate him and his contract; and I was worried that we might not be able to get rid of him (bad news is that Joe-D hasn't gotten rid of him yet?).

    6) There seems to be a lot of interest in Jonas Jerebko. Terrific news, again - as the league seems to still think he's got talent (and is being misused by Frank).
    7) I've also heard that there's a chance expiring Jason Maxiel could be moved.

These rumors, if true, most definitely have off-season implications..

    Eric Ma
    ynor is a RFA.

    J.J. Redick is a UFA.

    Gerald Henderson is a RFA.

    Josh Smith is a UFA.

    DeJuan Blair is a UFA.

What are you up to, Joe-D?

Like I said, all five of the players that have surfaced in possible "To Detroit" rumors are impending free agents of one class or another. I know this is a woefully inaccurate way to look at all this, but I don't know enough about the salaries these players are going to command next summer to get too into it (some will get more, some will get less, it might more or less almost balance itself out?).

Looking at the 2012/13 salaries of these unrestricted free agents, and at the qualifying offers of the restricted free agents (Smith-13.2m, Calderon-11.0m, Redick-6.2m, Maynor-3.4m, Blair-1.1m) it IS conceivable that we COULD sign all five - and resign J. Calderon - under the salary cap.. *if we amnesty C. Villanueva and trade R. Stuckey.

    C: A. Drummond, V. Kravtsov
    PF: G. Monroe, D. Blair, J. Jerebko
    SF: J. Smith, K. Singler
    SG: G. Henderson, B. Knight, J. Redick
    PG: J. Calderon, E. Maynor

    Hmm..

    Thoughts?

I think if we're involved at all, we will be a 3rd party in a deal. I don't see Joe making trades for more players right now. This season (with the loss of Drummond for several weeks) is pretty much done. Even with Rondo going down, I don't see us getting a spot in the playoffs.

According to HoopsHype, here's some done deals:

Leandro Barbosa to the Washington Generals in exchange for Jordan Crawford.
Boston still doesn't have a true PG with 2 good ACLs.

Dexter Pittman and a 2nd rounder to Tay Prince's Grizzlies for a trade exception (huge)

Seb Telfair will head North to Toronto for Hamed Haddadi (On an unrelated note, check out The Iron Sheik's twitter feed for some good comedy).

Patrick Patterson to Sac for Thomas Robinson.

The Morris Kid who plays (played) in Houston was traded to Phoenix so he can confuse the hell out of the opposition by playing next to the other Morris kid (his twin brother).
Houston will get a 2nd rounder form PHX.

That one was a head scratcher.
T-Rob has more upside and they now have some roster space for that dude who is afraid to get on an airplane.

Maybe we can keep Max, get Blair from SA, and Big Baby from the Magic. The first front line in history wider than high. They could just stand red rover fashion at the free throw line and force the other team to only take long jumpers.

The Pistons could save a lot of money by no longer having to supply those little neck pillows on board Roundball One.

    Update:
Eric Maynor to Portlandia for a trade exception (essentially, he's been traded for a piece of paper).

JJ Redick traded to John Hammond's Bucks. (So it was Hammond all along. ...not Joe).
Orlando gets Doron Lamb. Tobias Harris (who?) and the one and only - Beno Udih.

Please show A LIST OF ALL THE TEAMS that are interested in Rodney Stuckey.

I'd like to see that list please.

    Well, for starters, there's ..... & .......

But if we were willing to part with a couple of other guys we could probably deal him to ......, ......., or ......

That's not even considering ..... AND ..... who could really use him.

    Tulsa 66ers

Phoenix Mercury, Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky are really interested too, but they can't put together a deal where salaries match.

I'm surprised that the Cincinnati Collision haven't put in an offer?

Fixed. Truthfully I'd take Diana Taurasi or Sue Bird over Stuckey in a heartbeat.
