So smart to play Ibaka at center because Dre will leave him open for jumpers all day long.
I'm out. I can't believe I watched this late into the game.
Suicide watch in Thule tonight
Awful, disgusting, almost disrespectful to all of us. To think they are getting paid to perform like that.. ughh This are the types of games that makes me want to say: "TRADE EVERYBODY"
I know Ish can't play the whole game....but this game turned at the 8 minute mark when Reggie threw away that pass. A time out was called then, and the soft boys scored 3 points afterwards. It wasn't really about the defense....it was the offense that died on jump shots.. no one passed the ball inside, because no one played inside the paint....like Greg said, all they needed was one more pass, and even when they went there...they missed. This could be worst 4th quarter finish in Pistons history. Like I said, the Pistons are not winning any games when they score less than 40 by the half time or less than 95 for the game. With 72 points at the 9 minute mark of the 4th, there was a chance for a win under 90, but nope they unfortunately proved me right. In addition to Morris shooting 1-13, Ish was 2-9, and Pope was 1-9 from deep? ........by the way the Pistons were another dismal 3-20 from deep. Which is why Greg said another pass to someone moving in the paint could have resulted in more points instead of empty looks. Reggie Jackson went to the line 10 times......but Pope and Mo never got there because they never tried.... Disappointing to say the least and now guess who sits in 9th place?
This team has no offense. Period. 13 points in the first. 9 points in the 4th. 75 points tonight. 83 points the other night. Key games. This team has no offense. 3-20 from three point land--yet again. This team has no offense. Please blow this team up--start with the guards and work your way any way you want. Because this team has no offense.
Is it me or does seem like guys that teams picked up at the all-star break are the key factors in beating us. Remind who we picked up at the break? PJ Tucker...a midterm pickup was a game changer....
Pistons needs: 1) A consistent point guard 2) A shooting guard who can score 3) A coach who can change this offense. 4) Keep and work with Andre or do a complete blow up and trade him--the status quo is not acceptable. 5) Three point shooting. This is tough. I thought this team would move way up this year. It has actually moved backward. If you do not move forward in the NBA, things can get brutal. The playoffs matter little at this point. The team is offensively challenged
Lol strange all of the "Pay KCP!" demands are suddenly silenced, Philly even offered Okafor (3rd overall pick) for him at the deadline. If I was Stan I'd have taken that deal, said so at the time, and had them throw in Stauskas also.
It is just you. We're a bad team. Our season is already over. Even if we sneak into the playoffs, do you think this team can win even one playoff game? Okafor isn't that good. You don't trade for Okafor when you've committed monster cash to Dre. Pope will probably be gone, but it won't make us better. Our problems aren't personnel. Our problem is pride. The 2003 Pistons had very medicore talent, and yet they won a lot of games.
I didn't hear about that offer, but if true, Stan's GM qualifications need to be questioned. I am already questioning his coaching skills....I mean Oka, plays worst defense than Dre, but still you got some one that can give you a body when Luere is being Luere and when we need points (like 2nite) Stauskus is better shooter that any other scrubs we got coming off the bench.
Pistons start cold, finish colder as Raptors go on late 22-2 run to win View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIZ2fG_bDuw
The coach has some Pride, but they aren't responding to him....does he need to move upstairs and bring in his brother?
Do you guys remember what the Dwight Howard Magic looked like with Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis? They got the ball to the big guy in the paint, and he kicked it out to the open man. Until Dre can pass out of the post, I don't think SVG's offense is going anywhere. The center in SVG's offense is a crucial position. As important if not more important than PG.
I love you Uncle, but this is just re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I love JVG, but I don't know he can get these guys to play with pride. I remember LB flipping out early in the championship season after a horrible game. "I don't coach effort." SVG's problems aren't new in the NBA. There is only one solution. Guys have to care. PJ Tucker called out his teammates after their bad loss last night, and he willed that team to a win tonight. Who do we have that can do that?
It's funny you posted this. Even prior to his 4th Q tonight I was wondering if the Pistons were interested in him when he was available. He might have a little too much power in his forward for the Pistons though.
Actually yes, he is pretty good in the post when given a chance, at worst, a Monroe-like ceiling, though I think Jahlil even has more defensive potential, but the entire point of making this deal for Okafor is that he's on a M. Morris-like contract, very cheap. A good 20 minute backup center. There's your inside out basketball off the bench. And if you really are suggesting that Pope probably will be gone, why are you against the idea of trading him for an asset valued as a high-mid 1st? Here's the tweet: Feb 22, 2017 - (Jake Fischer) Sources: Sixers pitched a Jahlil Okafor package for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope,offered to bring in a third team, but the Pistons rebuffed.
A veteran coach who called all the plays and had full control of the roster would really help these guys.
WikiLeaks just published the Pistons 4th quarter offensive sets.
