Worst two consecutive games ever pitched by the tigers after the two best?
Tonight's nightcap is about as "must win" as you can get.
Coke looked better than he has all season last night. Was surprised Ausmus pulled him after 1 and 2/3
Are you kidding Dett ? If the Twinks can own us "F"
Just wondering, do those two losses count more in the standings when the score is lopsided?
yes victories by more than 10 runs in the division count twice.
That's only in your fantasy leagues....oh, wait, I forgot....you quit the fantasy league....
Nice comeback by the boys over the weekend to take two. Lots of time left in this season.
This bad news as we may have to go with short rotation or back to Robbie Ray or the Farmer.....and right now that was the inconsistent part of the starting rotation.... in other news...41 year old Bartolo Colon is available.....could be this years answer to the Doyle Alexander experiment of 1987.....of course we can't give up a future HOF to get him.... Tigers' Anibal Sanchez ends throwing session in pain, might be out for season | The Detroit News
In other pitching news..... Reports: Tigers claim Astros closer Chad Qualls, have 48 hours to work out trade | The Detroit News.... With 21 runs and 32 hits in the past two games, Dombrowski only thinks new pitching and not new hitters....of course the last time we faced the Yankees, what did we score 6 runs in 4 games??? Hopefully the return home to the friendly confines of Comerica park we can out slug the bullpen woes and keep pace, creep closer and surpass the Royals. I don't want to talk wildcard....I want a division crown and then on the the ultimate goal
Don't forget the Tigers gave up 42 runs in the last 4 games. 42!!!! - That is 10.5 runs per game!!! Sometimes these waiver claims are put in just to stop other teams from getting certain guys.
Like I said can we out slug the amount of runs the bull may will give up? We got a three game series with the Yanks and they have won 7 of 9.
Yeah 1 issue at a time lets get that Bully under 4ERA
If they get rolling at the right time, the Tigers will have the best starting playoff rotation even without Sanchez: 1. Price 2. Scherzer 3. Porcello 4. Verlander
None of them bat ! And none of them can protect a 1 run lead.
Porcello pitched great, Nathan had a rare 3 and out and the Tigers got the clutch hits when needed. All they need to is have similar results 4 out of every 5 games the rest of the season.....and we should have this. Unfortunately Nathan's twin reared his ugly in KC and the Royals got a walkoff dinger to win a game that should have been 1-0 Twins victory and a half deficit for the Tigers out of first place.
123 inning percentage would be an interesting stat for closers.
I think saves converted / save opportunities is really the only one that matters for closers.
You wouldn't deny a fan a stat would you Beer ? I think that stat would indicate just how easy going he is manager stress.
Quality of the save is helpful to be predictive. WHIP probably already accomplishes what I'm thinking though.
