Dont forget Max's performance...not bad-a weak inside the foul pole 3 run homer by Loney...Max singlehandidly kept Tigers in the game. The bullpen and Miggys injury has broke the spirit of this team...but we're still hanging in there

It was the first time since at least 1914 that a pitcher has lost a complete-game, one-hit, no-walk start without allowing an earned run.

    1914????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to baseball-reference.com, Price is the first pitcher in the Majors to lose a complete-game one-hitter or better with no earned runs since Andy Hawkins lost a no-hitter for the Yankees on July 1, 1990. The only other pitcher to do it in the last 40 years was Texas knuckleballer Charlie Hough on June 16, 1986.

You know those folks in Tampa Bay got to work during the day.................... Alas the ones that went to the game gave him a standing ovation when took the mound in the first and another standing O when he left in the 8th. After game, the MLB net guys questioned if the Tigers and A's made a mistake trading a hitter for a pitcher since both are now fighting it out for a wildcard spot since the trade instead of the division crown...

how about the hitting coach, Wally Joyner, the bullpen coach Mick Billmeyer, and the old bench coach Gene Lamont?

If the season ended today, the Tigers would be in the playoffs. No need to panic.

Seems like the longer the season the more likely they will be watching with us.

They may need to sit down Miggy for about 5 games until he mends. Hopefully JV is back to his old self (2011) when gets back ...

The good is despite today's half a game give away, they did win a series for only the second time this month. Winning the rest of their series the rest of the season and sweeping the Royals (praying, hoping) should be enough to eek out a 1 game division win.....

20-6 loss and back out of the race.

It may be a bad sign when the Lions' defense is giving up less points than the Tigers...

its not that....the numbers just don't show this team going better than 20-16 in last 36 games with this bullpen and Cabrera out of whack

Buddy Farmer and the Tigers are already down 7-1 and we aren't out of the 2nd inning yet.

Verlander is going to need to bail us out tonight to help turn this train wreck around.

I have to concur with you that prediction .... Brad looks to be over his head, but can't blame it all on him. You could have 4 CYA and 2 MVP's but if all aren't doing it the way they did in prior seasons, then you are just an average team and this team has been below average the past 30 days.

The best starters supposedly in baseball are hampered by a poor bullpen and hitters that can't do it when needed. The Twins banged out 20 runs on 20 hits with seven extra base hits (including 4 dingers) to our 6 runs on 16 hits, (but only 3 ebh). The team can hit, but winning teams get clutch hits at least every game and since July it only happens once a week. None of the pitchers brought from the minors have been worthy of a start or relief duty in my opinion.

Looking the tigers record since May 18...we have been teased in to thinking that with the new manager and the starting pitching and a few potent bats, this was the year..
May 18th 27-12, .692 best record in the majors 7 game lead over the Royals
Jun 18th 36-32 .532 ninth best record in the MLB 1.5 games behind Royals
Jul 18th 53-39 ..576 3rd best record in the MLB 6.5 games up on Royals and Indians who were both 48-47 at the time.
Aug 18th 66-56 .541 8th best record in the MLB 2 games behind the Royals and virtual tie with Mariners for second WC spot and trending out of post season play
    Sep 18th ??

What could you blame on him? The players have simply stunk it up.

Tigers have given up 32 runs, 34 hits and 15 base on balls in two games...all 32 runs were given up by Romine or the pitchers that weren't on the team last year or even the beginning of the season. Those guys should get a lot of workout once or if they are eliminated, but with injuries and failure of Joba, Nathan, Coke and A2 to get the job done all the newbies are training under fire...and definitely weren't ready........
