Cabrera deposits some high cheese into the high seats. Always a thing of beauty.

That looked like one of those home run balls that Bugs Bunny catches a cab and climbs up a building to catch.

Very Valverde like out there tonight. Heartbreaking. Loss of the season for sure. If Hunter would have made that catch, it would have been an all time classic. He missed it by inches as he understandably sensed sudden impact with the fence.

This ruined what has been probably the 3 greatest consecutive post season starts ever. It goes to show you how dangerous their lineup is and how amazing our starters have been to make them all look like Don Kelly.

Most of us would have probably taken a split in Boston, but the way it went down was really demoralizing.

Positive note- Peralta is hitting the ball hard every at bat now. Cabrera too. Fielder and VMart coming alive. Just need Jackson/Hunter to get on base for them.

Pretty difficult position for any pitcher to be in: manager gives you the ball with the bases loaded at Fenway with Big Papi at the plate. Yikes.

It's a very weak play to walk him in the 8th inning to send in a run and put the winning run at the plate. Benoit didn't exactly throw it down the middle on the only pitch to him. He's just Miggy-like.

Great baseball game for non fans of Detroit, that's for sure. That game had it all.

    Can you say punked ?!
How could you disrespect one of the deadliest big game hitters of the last 2 decades.
Oh that's right, our bully has been magnificent all season.

David Ortiz is a big time hitter. You are right, you can't just walk him and think the next guy isn't as good, you have to go at him. This time it didn't work.

    Sad face.

"Demoralizing" is the word I used this morning when describing the game to my wife. Gotta forget about it. Tomorrow is another game. Time for Tigers fans to get under their skin and slowly chant the names of opposing players like they do at The Joe.

That non-catch by Hunter was incredible. It was the first time my 6 year old son enjoyed watching sports on TV unless you count his fascination with the masks that Rip and Brandon Knight wore because it reminds him of pro wrestling.

That landing must have felt awesome for Hunter.
