Was the score 20 to 4 or was it just 3:40PM? And how many runners did the BoSox leave on base?
BTW...BIG UPS to Quentin Berry, 2 for 2, 2 runs, 2 rbi's.....
still about .725 winning yeah but not against really good teams.
And with that, Boston took over the run differential lead in MLB.
The Sox hit 8 HRs in the game...I'm sure they're leading us in that category too.........
We are still ahead of the BoSox in home runs by 13 (161 to 148), despite the 8-1 display of power last night. (Baltimore leads the majors with 185.) The Sox did take over the run differential 720 to 707. The Tigers are still the best in batting average, # of hits, on base percentage and are tied for the lead with the Sox in slugging. We held them to two runs the first two games before they broke out with 20 last night. Meanwhile we are 1-3 in September and have only scored 8 runs on 36 hits. However our opponents have scored 26 runs on 36 hits...Of course the 20 runs deserves an asterisk and the Red Sox banged out 19 of those 36 hits last night. In the other 2 losses, we actually out hit the Indians and the Sox, getting 20 hits, but could only score 1 run... So even though Cabrera played in one game, (a lost) it appears that we miss him in the scoring column... 2013 MLB Team Batting Stats - Major League Baseball - ESPN
Wow, what a beating. That must have left a scar.
Clearly they must've been seeing the ball clearly. Prince homered
annnnnd....this is why the only stat that matters is wins. Nice bounceback, 16-2 with 26 hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 26!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Infante and Dirks with 5 hits each!! Did anyone hear Verlander in the dug out yelling save some of those hits and runs for me tomorrow
Looks like it didn't. That's an amazing turnaround in one game. Who'd of thunk?
Tigers batting .287 as a team. Pretty amazing. The '68 team was .235. The '84 and '87 teams were .271 and .272. The '12 team was .268 and the '06 team was .274. Best-hitting team for the Tigers maybe ever.
Yeah, but we score 5 percent less in the 8th inning in night games. need to fix that if we are going to have any chance.
Imagine if Fielder , Jackson and Avila had BETTER years!!
Fielder is 5th in the AL with 96 RBI. That ain't bad.
but he is FIRST IN ML with 356 men left on base!! At 33percent clip, he would 126 rbi's if was batting at least .300!
Those 2 strike outs by Torii and the pop-up and fly out by Fielder that sandwiched Cabreras 2 RBI were rally killers. JV had a chance but he cant hold a lead when the Tigers score. Now you know why he was clamoring for some of runs last night. 26 hits last night and 5 tonight? ??
Yea, Hunter is usually pretty solid at putting the ball in play in those situations. Those were killers.
BoSox clubbed Yanks again 13-8 Always nice
Again, little run support for Verlander. It's true he couldn't hold the lead, but it wasn't exactly a big lead. Indians only 5.5 back now.
