THIS is why I recommended batting Hunter 6th instead of second!! I'd rather have his middle lineup power over a few hits batting 2nd. Put Infante or Iglesias there.
I was listening on my MLB.com/radio when he homered and all I could say was Thank YOU TORI!!!

I forgot the game was on the tube on the MLB network and when I tuned in, it was the top of the ninth and the A's were threatening to add more runs to their 6-3 lead......with Benoit on the mound. I said WTH, they got to Max too??? We are toast.

When Avila was called out on strikes and we were down to our last out I was already typing a eulogy, but decided to wait for the final out.....and that was an OUT of the ball park!! So I erased my dissertation and just Torii walks it off!!

Cabrera removed in the third inning. This was tweeted by beat writer Jon Morosi:

"Cabrera struck out in his only at-bat, and looked extremely uncomfortable while doing so. He's a warrior and trying to play through the pain, but it may be best for him and the Tigers to sit him down for a couple of days and get him healthy."

We got a 7.5 game lead, sit for the rest of the weekend. We need him in October ...he will still be the MVP even if he sat for a week ...Triple Crown, well he has one already..

Jeter and Arod come back from injuries and they bat their normal avg. VMart takes 1/2 a season.

Who needs Cabrera when you have Infante batting almost .360 since the break and hitting 2 dingers and knocking in 5 runs?

Tigers now 8-1 when Miggy sits and 15-3 vs the Indians this season and have a 8.5 game lead over them.

Let Miggy rest another day or so....although the way Verlander has been pitching lately, we may need Miggy for PH work

Quit with the LOB counting already. It's starting to get ridiculous.

I agree with CJ. You have to work hard to find a negative in wins like this over your division rival. Enjoy the ride!

The Tigers' dominance of Cleveland this season is truly impressive. Need another nail for the coffin today. Always interested in a Verlander start these days as you never know what you are going to get from him. I'm hopeful that he (and the pitching coach) figures out in time what has caused his inconsistencies. Lots of first-pitch swinging when Verlander pitches it seems. The league has appeared to find a crack in the armor, and Verlander needs to respond. But the Tigers' coaching staff needs to help him respond.

It looks like Cleveland is being very patient at the plate, fouling off pitches, trying to drive the Verlander pitch count up. JV threw 35 pitches in the first inning.

I dont understand a managers theory of bringing in closers when the games are tied to start the 9th inning.
