nah...the boys will bail him out.
If you are getting shelled and you are the starter, you take the loss no matter how many innings you pitched.
Wow...I've got a 10,000 message count. I talk too much.
That's sensible Beer, like last year in the WS Justin got shelled and was left in.
But if he hasn't got his stuff way waste him ? Considering what's on the line.
Dude you passed me up and most of your comments are flippant lately.
I don't always agree with you, but, in this case....
Looks like our only consistency the last two weeks is Scherzer's pitching and the run support that keeps him undefeated. Anybody else pitches, he's got to get out there and try to bat in some insurance runs himself and since that ain't happening, the result is normally the same in the end no matter who we play..
Blame goes all the away around...bats silent in the end of the game (the last 7 innings) ...Dirks and Kelly are in the lineup, doing their usual nothing....Bullpen gives away the game (again) and JL has lost it when it comes to leaving them in and yanking them. There is probably no debate whether Verlander stayed in too long or not to give up the tying run...but if Smyly strikes out the side in the ninth on 14 pitches, why isn't he out there in the 10th inning, instead bringing out a guy who's ERA is double digits? Rondon gives up three singles and wild pitch and the game is over. I hope he is on the first bus back to Toledo and send JL with him.
2-9 in extra innings ...don't look now but guess who only has a one game lead on the Indians
Our giving up 7 more walk off runs than the opposition is worst in the American league...........
Rondon has been a stud in Toledo. You have to put him out there in situations like last night. Smyly is going to start working more games with 1 inning at a time (instead of 3-4 innings of mop-up).
Tigers are 2nd worst in the AL in run scored in innings 7-9. That is their biggest problem right now.
I would have preferred to send Rondon out a time or two without that much pressure, settle him in a bit first.... I seldom say its a manager lose, but last night I'm giving a majority of the blame to the old skipper.
Unfortunately, Max appears to be the only pitcher that the Tiger hitter are bailing out on a regular basis. Eight games in and the Tigers are underperforming. They just don't have that winning mentality. When a game is close or goes into extra innings, this team seems to lose confidence.
the offense is vastly overated-save Cabrera...nuff said
That 7th inning was painful. Bases loaded, no outs....you've got to score a run or two there.
We are too slow to steal home
There are slim chances the team could bail him out late. But by removing him before he goes deeper in the hole maybe he does take the loss.
Doesn't get the win either but that was a forgone conclusion.
But something can be said for consistancy . We do it this way all the time.
So who's are MVP as awe approach the
So as we approach the half way mark, who is the Tiger MVP? Miggy or Max?
MAX -- !
Cabrera. He's an everyday player.
Tie goes to the runner...........
Unfortunately that has happen a lot in Tiger games, especially in the late innings...
Remember Verlander won the AL MVP two years ago pitching in 30 games...
Separate names with a comma.
