Classic boneheaded move by Leyland. Should have pulled Newhouser and gone to the bullpen sooner.

Newhouser's pitch count was only at 110. Plus, Leyland had an agenda against winning back then.

Al Kaline is 2 months older than I am. He's always been one of my favorite Tigers.

It never works out like this...

Anibal Sanchez Didn’t Start Out Well In Detroit, But Quickly Turned To Dominance

He's on the verge of having a 200 inning stretch with a sub 2.0 ERA.

What a trade and what a gutsy resigning... and I have to give credit to Anibel for not withering under the pressure of expectations and big contract. It almost seems like it has motivated him even more.

Maybe show your boss this when you want a big raise next time.

After coming off a nice home stand we were sideswiped by the rain that always throws our pitchers off.....and this case our batters too, as the Nats sweep the Tigers.

Now it's time face the hot Indians at back at Comerica. Moment of truth as they can't give back that cushion they just established.

Nice RBI by Fister today as he partially made up for a bad 1st inning.

Skoo, they won the series with a shut-out 2-0, dust-panning.
Trouncing Injuns was a good comeback. Division games very important.

Hmm, the Tigers lost yesterday 7-6. In the 4th inning with men on second and third, VMart comes up and hits a soft tapper to the first basemen that fails to advance either runner and then Dirks strikes out.

Today in the 1st, Hunter and Miggy get on with one out.....Fielder flies out to right, but then there is VMart killing a rally again with a strikeout. With the pitching and hitting on this team, they should have at least 5 more W's under their belt and leading the majors with the best record of 25-9 and not just leading their division by1 game. We do lead the AL in runs....but still

VMart and Dirks have not lived up to their mid line up stature. We are getting better production from the # 9 hitter. > Infante

And I still say that Rick Porcello should be the long reliever and not in the JL's starting rotation. He is to inconsistent to be a starter....they need a lefty starter...

OK that's my rant for today...Happy Mothers day to your significant others:dance:

Porcello looks good today. Two runs in 6 innings.

Fister is the inconsistent one. Replace him with Smyly.

    Fister is 4-1 with a 3.14 ERA.

Porcello has been the weakest of the 5 starters. He had one REALLY bad outing, but has been okay in his other starts.
