A few more outings like this and I ready to promote him to # 1...after all he leads the team in wins, innings pitch, era and strikeouts.....

Maybe we need to tell him that so he can get better?? JV normally pitches against the other teams ace, so he just needs run support...3 + runs normally = W

Other than listening to Tiger hater Tim McCarver subliminal thrashing of our team, it was a good game as the retro Tigers beat the Braves with the long ball and timely hits from the bottom of the line-up. Porcello who I still think should be the middle relief set up man, got his first win of the season and Papa Grande once again looked the 2011 saver as he mowed them down in the ninth with 2 K's.

He didn't, but the strange tone of his voice seems like he wanted the Braves to prevail...then again, maybe it's just me whenever I hear him on the tube... You know me...I'm justa rambling...

He is scheduled to make his next start despite the thumb issue.

Nice to get a sweep after getting swept last weekend. And it was done on national TV as three games aired via the tube this weekend from MLB, Fox and ESPN.

25 runs on 36 hits holding the braves to 7 runs for the series.....very impressive!!

THis was a fun game to watch tonight!! I love drunk HQ Baseball..but I digress...

    1. Prince Fielder realized why his next 5 years hitting behind Jose Miguel Cabrera will add 10 years to his life!!!!
    2. Doug Fister is 4-0 on a team that has Verlander, Sanchez and Scherzer!
    3. Resigning Papa G and bringing up Ron DON! has seemed to spike up this clubhouse. Never underestimate the power of a good teammate. They love Papa G and V-Mart in Detroit!
    4. Smyly, AlB, Rondon and Ortega and Crosby at AAA could spell the end of Coke and Dotel for sho!
    5. Bryan Pena is better than Avila.
    6. Garcia , Holladay and Castellanos are the truth. Cabrera will make them allstars. Wait til 2014 , yall!!!

Funny ESPN line of the night: 7th inning- Cabrera has a 3-0 count with 2 runners on. Horshiser is blabbing about the next pitch and Kruk says "ALL I KNOW IF HE GROOVES THIS IN TO CABRERA , ITS GONNA BE A 3 RUN HOMER!!" nEXT PITCH??... Cabrera lines it in the right field seats!!!! I laughed my LMAO off!!!!

2nd funny ESPN moment: Showing a replay of Hunter trying to high five Cabrera as Miggy wanted to fist bump Hunter!! LOLOLOL Like watching your white friend dance to Atomic Dog!!! Hilarious. Then they showed a replay of the Fielder/Cabrera salt and pepper on the menu shake!! And Sean McDonough utters ' This is how you do it, Tori!!"

Finally- a TYPICAL WHATWESHOULDEXPECT Tiger week

I only say one inning.......happened to be the one you described. The 3 run HR looked like a batting practice pitch.

Miggy in his career after reaching 3-0 count:

    469 occurances
338 walks (154 intentional, and 184 unintentional... some may have turned into intentional after the pitcher fell behind. Many may have been semi-intentional as they pitch around him).
    44 hits (22 singles, 10 doubles, and 12 home runs, .687 SLG)
87 outs (28 strike outs and 59 outs from balls hit in play)

I been waiting for Fister to get his act together.
Looking at those stats TaS, 3.3/4.7 walks, 28 whiffs, umpteen DPs, 44/87 ball in play... nevermind he gets lots of walks.

Can't believe Benoit gets a save for 1 out. Another nice outing by a starting pitcher and also by Smyly in relief.

This team is great to watch.
