Well...as not to over do the potential of this team like the season not to be mentioned here (hint: 2007 season) but this team has a lot of good intangibles and will have a good season.

HITTING: Potentially awesome. Jackson will approach a 20-20 season. Cabrera may have a better year this year and NOT win the triple crown because the MVP will be batting behind him in Fielder ,who will benefit from Martinez return to DH. I only hope he doesnt play in more than 130 games as to not stress his legs. Hunter brings a pro bat to the lineup so we have Martnez/Hunter >Young/Boesch. Infante for a whole year will be solid. The keys for the offense will be Avila and Peralta.

PITCHING: Best starters in baseball. The best 1, 2 3 4 and 5th starter on any team. The problem will be in having a confident and consistent bullpen. I could care less who closes, just get the third out.

DEFENSE: Not as bad as you think. As long as we make the plays, we should make and not extend innings. I'd rather have Worth on the bench than santiago, but his time will come.

    HITTING PREDICTIONS:
    AVG. HR RBI
    JACKSON .285 21 66
    HUNTER .303 17 65
    CABRERA .327 37 130
    FIELDER .310 44 128
    MARTINEZ .318 16 92
    PERALTA .277 19 82
    DIRKS .294 9 55
    AVILA .279 15 70
    INFANTE .300 12 68

    PITCHING PREDICTIONS:

    W L ERA
    VERLANDER 23 6 2.54
    FISTER 14 10 3.33
    SCHERZER 16 9 3.57
    SANCHEZ 17 10 3.75
    PORCELLO 15 8 4.11

PREDICTION: Tigers will make a huge mid season trade and that will carry them to their first World Series championship since 1984!!! GO TIGERS!

Our pitching looks good and you are correct I too worry about the relief especially since Dombroski announced that we will go with the closer by committee until someone rises to the top.

Our non-pitchers look good on paper...as they did during the world series. :puke: Just need some consistency from the bottom third of the line up to be prepared to produce some runs via the RBI method when Miggy, Prince and Marinez get aboard.

Last year, Scherzer won 16 games and Verlander won 17. Can't wait for another one of your wacky "out there" predictions.

    Let's see how's it going......

    Scherzer is 11-0 3.05 ERA BAA .192 WHIP .91
    Verlander is 8-5 3.90 ERA BAA .261 WHIP 1.38

Scherzer should be the American league all star starter...........Verlander will be carrying his bag.......if he's invited.

Like I said, that was one wild and wacky prediction you made. I will predict that Verlander will win more games from here on out.

So, you're saying that Max will go 9-5 and JV 8-5 the rest of the way?

Max is 15-1 and JV 10-8 as of today. Max needs to go 5-4 and JV 6-2 the rest of the way. Both are doable, just hope that Max does better than that.

Max is do do for a slump, maybe 2 loses in a row, it happens.
I may need to recalculate Justins numbers, due to his stank.

Can we give Max the win tonight, even though he didn't start?
