I wouldn't mind seeing Benoit close some games, as long as we win them.

Yea, Valverde's save percentage (100%) has sucked this year. It's a good time to experiment with a new closer.

You do make sense sometimes Bill. :) Leyland has been very consistent as a manager these playoffs. I proposed using starters as middle relievers, but I know that he'll never try something like that. [STRIKE]Plus Dre thought I was crazy[/STRIKE]. His biggest move will be to shorten his rotations and bullpen....Maybe he'll surprise us all...:stirthepot:

Probably should only bring him in save situations only since he pretty much sucks in any other situation.

Well...Porcello comes in as a reliever, but for mop up duty...:crying:

So far...they've scored 9 runs on us in the 3rd...seems like 27 batters came to the plate.

    Bummer. :rain:

They had a great year but the batting cooled off at the wrong time and the weather didn't help. The playoffs are like that. Plus Texas deserves some credit too. They have a really good team.

Great season by the Tigers. The injuries caught up to them.

Verlander and Fister next year should be fun to watch. We'll probably pick up another big bat and have our big year.

How about a new skipper like Francona? JL took these guys to the ALCS, but thinking Francona could get them further next year and beyond with another leadoff hitter, another piching and hitting coach and another middle relief man.:stirthepot:

He's an obnoxious announcer. But I guess Leyland would be the all time worst.

No need to talk about another skipper yet. Leyland isn't going anywhere. It's not like the Pistons where you fire your skipper...and then bring in some "Gilligans" to run the show...

How about a new 3rd base coach too. :stirthepot:

Its just a thought and it is really in the hands of JL....

Didn't say you had to fire him...there are other jobs in the organization...who said Dombrowski can't have two assistant GMS's.....maybe JL suggests and finds a replacement for himself...

JL is set in his old school ways, so maybe someone not as stubborn and younger could get these guys over the hump...with Jim's help...

I know he was challenged with at least 5 players being injured during the post season with three out all together in Guillen, Boesch and then Maggs, but still when your lead off hitter (AJAX) strikes outs over 20 times 11 games, it seems that one obvious adjustment would be to possibly move him around...?? On the other hand Santiago batted over .350 for the ALCS ...

The 2011 Tigers far exceeded my expectations (95 wins, division championship, knocked off the league-best Yankees in 1st round, MVP, etc.). Thanks for the great season. Bless you boys!

Sorry M.S. we couldn't get you 17 runs.

I was glad to see Penny get some pitches in. I knew he'd come in handy.
