This scouting report on Tony Mitchell is pretty interesting. The soundtrack is very repetitive, so prepare yourself for that.
If you don't have 13 minutes to watch it, let me sum it up.

Strengths: Excellent athleticism. Blocks shots. Plays above the rim.
Weaknesses: Bad at Basketball. Lacks heart and motor. Regressed season to season instead of improved. Really bad at Basketball.

Since I've never actually seen him play, I'm going to postpone judgement on his game. I'm also not going to pencil him into rotations as the next LeBron James, or really consider him an NBA level player until I see some evidence that he is.

He is a smaller Drummond coming out of college.... lots of red flags with tons of potential....

lets hope he takes the same road Drummond took

I think Mitchell is more like a skinnier version of Maxiel than a smaller version of Drummond. Andre is more impactful than the other two.

On the season so far, we've only seen 43 minutes of T Mitchell. However, let's imagine that instead of coming over 12 games, it was just one heavy outing.

    43 min
    15 points
    .672 TS%
    14 FTA (8-14)
    1-1 from deep
    13 rebounds
    1 ast
    1 stl
    2 blocks
    2 turnovers
    2 fouls.

Dude filled up the statsheet in garbage time, that's for sure.

His 14 FTA's really stands out as being insane for 43 minutes of bball. Harrellson and Datome have fewer combined FT attempts in about 500 minutes. Mitchell has more FT attempts than Chauncey in his 300 minutes.

He hasn't been given any PT, but just pointing out that he's maximized the little opportunity that he has gotten. I admit that he doesn't look like he knows what he's doing, but we drafted him for his physical freakiness. So far, he's been freaky.

In his mixtapes, it's obvious that he is capable of making jump shots (reminds me a little of Rodman). I can't imagine that TMitch would shoot a worse percentage than JS from the perimeter.

He kinda sucks. Its all potential. He looks lost for a good chunk of time them bam! he does something amazing. Then he goes back to being lost. He can shoot the three, pass, rebound and block shots. He's the total package only its more a McDonald's take away than Gordon Ramsay. I don't know how he'll put it together but Drummond picked it up pretty fast.

I love his talent, but he's pretty clueless on the defensive end. With this team's defensive problems, there's no way we can afford to play him. I do like that they seem to get him down to the D-League when they can.

I would imagine that he'll be fighting for minutes next year.

I'm thinking that being bad at basketball is a definite strike against him. I mean LBJ and those guys just aren't all that impressed by his ability to get all seven layers of his NBA warmup gear on in the right order.

I believe his atleticism and talents will make him a servicable player, sooner or later. He could turn into the perfect player to back-up Drum/Monroe.

Like Amir, I'm sure the Pistons will never let Mitchell be himself as a player while he is here.

They'll try to mold him into a 2 guard.
