    Hi,

What are you thoughts on drafting Tony Mitchell? I propose that the Pistons absorb Shawn Marion's contract in exchange for the Mav's # 13 pick. With the #8 pick we can get Michael Carter-Williams and with the #13 pick we can pick up Tony Mitchell.

Mitchell is a physical specimen and he was a lotto prospect but his stats drop drastically this season for unknown reasons. However, he is super athletic and he contributes at both ends of the floor, plus he has upside to boot. Thoughts?

I like the idea of snagging the Mav's pick.
Not sure that Tony Mitchell is the way to go but...

Hmm.. I just watched a scouting video on him and he looked very lazy on both sides of the floor. Although, his athleticism does show and if a coach can fire him up, I think he'll be a great player.

They're making a big deal out of the fact that his numbers dropped from his 1st to 2nd year. If he doesn't read and write well maybe he's bad at math also? He might have thought he was doing well.

I would just give the answer, "Sophomore slump, bro" if it were me.

He appears to be the exact opposite of Kyle Singler.
Weather that's good or bad is very much up for discussion.
(Given the competition at SF in the EC, I personally think it's good!)

With an early 2nd round pick, I'm OK with rolling the dice like this and going for the athlete.

    Totally agree.
When you Google 'high upside NBA 2nd rounder', this guys Wiki page should be the #1 rank on the search.

Yea, this dude was projected in the top 10 at the beginning of the season. I like this pick a lot.

I just watched a video of this kid and it looked like he was dunking on a Nerf hoop.
Holy crap, this kid has some bounce!

Just watched and listened to him during the Pistons draft introductions and he admitted that he had slacked off some and Joe's team had grilled him on the subject during the combine interviews. Both he and Joe came out of it indicating it appeared that he was ready to play some serious ball and they were drafting based on ability and promise that he would be bringing it to the court every day/night.

Drummond already challenged Mitchell to a jumping contest.

I also like the fact that Joe already called him out on taking games off in college and how it was the last time it would happen. If he can work as hard as Drummond did after his lack of motor let him slip last year I think we have a draft day steal.
