I like to think of the Pistons as "handicapable."
No, I think Joe is a woman (metaphorically speaking). Not that there's anything wrong with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No, of course not.
Tay is Gump. The Pistons are the bullies. The Grizz is Gump after the braces come off. Maybe if Tay can keep the Grizz around .650
Memphis had a 29-16 record (.644) before Tayshaun arrived. We will see which way they head from here on out....
can someone explain how Knight will learn to be a better point guard by playing the shooting guard spot? are you telling me they aren't willing to have him watch and come off the bench? BUT i guess it's hard to do when Bynum is dang near out playing every other guard on the team and serving more dimes.
Over the last 5 games with Calderon at the point Kyle Singler is averaging 12.5ppg (on 51% shooting) and grabbing 5.8 rebs/game. Calderon is making us forget about Tay but it's may be Singler's increased production producing the Tayshaun amnesia.
Not disagreeing with you, but wonder how much of it is also the fact he's playing his more natural position.
My new goal for this team is 10 games or better under .500. That is a record of 36-46 or better. or roughly a +3 games over .500 for the rest of the season. Realistically playoffs are out but if we can hit that ( esp with Drummond missing so many games ) I will be happy and feel as though some real progress is being made.
The Pistons are currently 21-34 (.382 winning percentage). They have 27 games remaining. Of the 27 remaining games:17 are on the road, 10 are at home14 are against current playoff teams, 13 versus non-playoff teamsContinuing on the season pace (.382) puts them at 10-17 for the remainder and 31-51 for the year. A 38% winning percentage is exactly the same as last season (25-41) and about the same as two years ago (30-52, 37%). This should be good for another #9 draft pick.
There will be a nice player there at #9. This draft is weak at the very top, but it has very nice depth. McLemore, Shabazz, Porter, Smart, McCollum, and Caldwell-Pope are all quality players who could help us.
After tomorrow (trade deadline) there will be no more need to showcase certain players. If they are still Pistons, I'd like to see Stuckey, Maxiell and BoT shut-down for the remainder of the season. We need to utilize the remainder of the year to get a good look at what we have and how it all fits together. I would play-out the schedule with the goal of answering the following questions: 1. Should we re-sign Jose? 2. Can Dre and Greg play together? 3. Can TRG be a primary backup? 4. What is Kenny's role? (Should he have one?) 5. What is Middleton's role? (Should he have one?) 6. Should we re-sign Teen Wolf? 7. What up with Jerebko? ...Keep him? ...Trade him? 8. Can BK be a PG who can learn from Jose and take over for him someday? 9. Given what we have, who should we draft? 10. Given what we have, what FAs should we go after?
Great plan. With the suggestion of shutting down 3 players and your top ten list, I cannot argue against any of these 13 goals. Actually, it makes so much sense, I see no reason why it will actually happen....
...Or we can pull out all of the stops and see if we can move from 11th up to 9th in the East.
We shut down 3 stars like that and Stern will be fining us like he did the Spurs, folks pay good money to see them and our sellouts will come to a screaching halt without them on the floor to root for.
I guess that you can add Victor Oladipo to that list. It's a great year for perimeter players.
He wasn't even on my radar until last night's game. Now he is pegged in the exact same spot (#9) the Pistons are sitting. 2013 Mock Draft | NBADraft.net
Shutting down our 3 stars......that's a good one...................I wonder if Stern could name 3 Piston Stars currently playing?
They have been playing around .500 for the past few months. I just don't see a 10-17 record to finish out. I would hate another #9 pick. So sick of it. Its like going backwards and the inevitable question of what good are they doing us if the record never improves. We have to do better this year - just have to.
Well, we effectively got a top 5 pick and a top 2 pick in the last two drafts. We picked up the starting front court for the next decade. Adding another top 10 pick is great. But we have to make our move, because these undervalued rookie contracts turn into market contracts.
