#1) Andre Drummond. The guy is a freak of Dwight Howard proportions. We'll need the #1 overall pick to have a shot at him.

#2) Jared Sullinger. I think he's really underrated. I think he could be an Elton Brand and then some kind of player in the league. Health is his main concern. But the thing most people don't know about him - - - his dad is a legendary high school coach in Ohio. That goes a long way IMO. He's really improved his game, and gotten into better shape, from year one to year two. The guy's got a legit three point shot now! He's got as good as hands, instincts and moves inside as any big man that I can remember coming out. He'll probably measure out at closer to 6-9 than 6-10, and he's not super athletic, so he'll be dogged by the draft gurus for that...but I really like him. He'd give us a really nice interior scoring option. And a hard working, intelligent defender down low.

#3) The freak from Kentucky that everyone compares to KG. I've never seen him play, so idk. But it sounds like everyone agrees that he's going to be a big time player.

I'm thinking we should be looking for a combo guard.

Bill, could you break down the top combo guard prospects that will likely be in next year's draft so we can just weed out the players that Joe won't be considering? While your at it, you might want to include some undersized tweener forwards that are too slow to be SFs and too small to be PFs.

    Thanks in advance.

You know, I tried this last year and failed miserably. I created a poll to choose who you think the Pistons will draft and Brandon Knight wasn't even an option. Every mock draft and "expert" opinion had him going 3rd or 4th....easily long gone by the time Detroit got around to picking.

The way I see things shaking out right now is the Pistons battling the Wizards for the most ping pong balls. You may want to circle these dates on your calendar:

    February 12
    March 26
    April 6

Those are the dates of the 3 head-to-head Detroit-Washington games this season. Loser of this series may be the biggest winner.

Last the Pistons picked 8th and got the guy everyone had going 3rd or 4th.
This year we'll be picking 3rd or 4th and select the guy that everyone has going 8th.

Since we have a PF with finesse, we just need a big, ugly, angry center to complement him. He should be someone who seems angry at the rim and territorial over the paint.

Right now the rim seems pretty angry at the guys on this team.

I want someone who is too short/skinny to play PF and too slow for SF. And can't shoot very well.

Those special players only come once every 10-12 years. We should be so lucky.

For our second rounder, we should get a speedy guard who can really rack up points in garbage time.

I couldn't disagree with you more Walt.
We absolutely need someone to represent the Pistons in Europe (even if it's just a "draft rights" guy).
