Just say no. I feel like people have somehow forgot Stuckey's first 6 rookie years.
I don't think Stuckey will be traded. He's making a case for being the best player on the roster so far and Joe is in a win-now mode so he won't trade him for picks or young talent. He'll come crashing down just like he always does as soon as the trade deadline passed and he's signed his new contract.
No doubt he is a talented player but he is yet to make it an entire seasons worth. We will see.
He's posted 3 seasons with an above average PER and 3 seasons with a slightly below average one with an overall 15.7 average. His 20.5 so far this year is a jump, but it's not so much of a jump from his prior successes that it is impossible to maintain. As we've all noticed for years though, his previous limitation was his shooting. So far this year, his 2 point percentage is up 50 points from his previous high and his 3point percentage up 80 points. He's shooting like a real shooting guard while still being a bear in the paint.
I remember him having a 25 games or so-stretch of 20/10-ball to end the 10/11 (?) season. Brap and 2tough4u was laughing their asses off at the Heat who was stuck with a prime Wade.
Stuckeys assists are way down this year (half the rate of his previous peak per minute) and his tovs are flat. He's looking to score now with hugely increased fg percentage. He's dropped the facillitator role and it's working.
