You can say that I created this, my take was at that time Jeo was asked by the league to receive AI because the whole wild sport business world were looking for a place which meant something than to give AI one more chance to come back to sell gears and Joe took that risk because it was Denver where CB wouldn't be hurt that much.

Gotta love how Stuck always heats up and hits his groove once we are mathematically out of the playoffs.

All I ever heard was that Joe loved AI's game for a long time. That one was probably his biggest mistake in terms of "why would he do that [fast forward three years] that was a terrible decision." I think he wanted to rebuild, but it was a bad way to go about it.

The AI trade was to get cap space. That's all. All that stuff about Joe loving AI's game was just PC crap. He wasn't going to go out and say "I'm going to trade my top player for an aging vet on the last year of his contract because it's time to gut this roster that's been so successful for the past 6 years. We've reached a point of diminishing returns and I need the cap space."

Right. When games get more meaningless, Stuckey gets good. It has become strangely predictable.

Sadly whats even more predictable are the number of fans that will say see he's worth giving another year too because he has finally gotten it.... lol

    I'm not sure about that.
I think that "the anointed one" has FINALLY worn out his welcome with 99.9% of Pistons fans.
Aside from lee calling for him to start at PG in the Cavs game thread from yesterday, I think that virtually everyone wants to see Rodney "collide" somewhere else next season.

A year and a half ago I spent a lot of time on this board having healthy debates regarding the merits of the Stuckster.
...I don't seem to be having as many of those discussions anymore and all of the posters that used to get into it with me are no longer here.
Brap pops in every now and then but all of those other dudes have been laying in the weeds.
I (and I hope others) have no intentions of giving these guys the old "itoldyaso". Please come back! There's a butt-load of other topics to discuss besides freaking Rodney Stuckey.

I could use a healthy dose of Brap's optimism these days!

I'm looking forward to discussing Stuckey with Brap et al in the Ex-Pistons thread.

We're all going to feel really silly when Stuckey leads Charlotte to to an NBA Championship.

Is this the same year that Austin Daye learns sick Allen Iverson crossovers?

That silly feeling might be the acid kicking in, though.
