Sorry, I'm going to go on rant mode and this is my dirty street corner. Langolis in particular has beated the "we went .500 over the last half of the season" horse one too many times for me. Yeah its great that inserting Maxiell into the starting lineup resulted in a boost for the team. Ok you can attribute the slow start to unfamiliarity to Franks system and to each other. But lets face it, that was the past. The compressed season changed the dynamic of the league. The bumper crop of prospects encouraged wholesale tanking. This is now. While its debatable that New Orleans will get significantly better in year 1 of the unibrow era, the mid 1st round teams have picked some good players. We didn't luck out in a weak draft but got a promising prospect in a good, deep draft. That means other developing teams have had similar influxes of talent. Playoffs talk should be centered on this season. Not what we did last season with different players in a different environment. Is the sample size big enough to get a feel for a playoff push? If not, don't use irrelevant data to make your case!
Indeed, the past doesn't predict the future. If it did, very little if anything would actually change.
Dear Debbie Downer, Perhaps you haven't been following the Pistons during the offseason. I think this picture should change your attitude. Championship, here we come!
