Ernie you always make me laugh man.. thank you!.. __________________ The line up will change (without trades) during the season.. I think that Joe will start like the last season. Stuckey Hamilton Prince Jerebko Wallace But if when Prince goes to the bench and Daye goes in, Daye starts playing good.. I think then Hamilton and Prince will have less minutes and Daye will be playing like 20 minutes per game. ALSO The same with Monroe. If he delivers and makes good use of his minutes in the hardwood, he will be seeing 20 -25 minutes per game (or maybe more if Ben Wallace only signs with the Pistons to "coach" CV and Monroe..) I can't see Big Ben playing more than 15 - 20 minutes per night, and depending on how good will CV and Monroe develop, maybe Jerebko won't see more han 25 minutes..
It's not Tayshaun's playing time that will keep Daye on the Bench, it's trying to find minutes for all 4 guards (Stuckey, Bynum, Rip, Gordon) and just in case you forgot we do that by playing small-ball. I think Rip has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that there is no way he's willing to play less minutes. If he wouldn't take a reduced role for AI, won't take one for Gordon, he'll have a tantrum like we've never seen before to take one for Austin Daye.
I use to have so much confidence in joe d but this is exactly why I have lost confidence. At least 4 guards and none of them are really much better than the next. Rip and BG are about equals, Stuckey and will Bynum in my opinion are about equal as well, slight edge to stuckey but it's debatable. Then we drafted T. White, what the....!!! looking like the Pistons will field a team that will be bad enough to miss the playoffs and the lottery, doesn't get worse than that.
Who said that Bynum will be back in the team?? I mean, Imagine if you are Bynum, and the team that a couple of months ago said that want you back with them, draft a player who potentialy, looks like you and play your role (White) , and also still have the same problem with Stuckey, Gordon and Hamilton?? And the team have a 6-11 guy who the Manager said that he can play the SG. It's obvious that you will not be playing too much time there.. Why re sign with this team when you can sign with another team who may give you more playing time or at least the chance to get a ring (like Miami o L.A. ?)
I didn't think of it from his perspective, but you're right. He should go elsewhere if he's thinking about WB. Maybe he has some loyalty to Joe.
Joe Dumars. Two totally different players. White, according to Joe, is not a PG. White hasn't clearly shown that he's going to be a guy that gets out of street clothes. If anything White allows us to move Rip and have a starting backcourt of Stuckey-Gordon (which is ideal) and a backup backcourt of Bynum-White (assuming White even makes it onto the active roster) Again, White probably won't make it out of street clothes, that means if Joe can move Rip, the backup backcourt is Bynum-Daye, which is very ideal. He'll play, Stuckey has not shown that's he's "The Guy", Will is one of the best instant offense guys in the league when healthy. Because he can about $25Million here compared to $2 or $5Million dollars somewhere else.
Knowing Joe and his loyalty, he may try to get Will a decent contract if he won't sign him to play with Pistons. Joe said many things and he didn't follow through on all. So, I take what he says with a grain of salt...
With no trades Stuck, Rip, Tay, Ben, Monroe. I like our front court a lot better this year. JJ and Monroe will probably get most of the mins up front so it's a little green to make a serious run. We should make the playoffs though barring any injuries.
First half seasson Stuckey Gordon Prince Villanueva Wallace Second half Stuckey Gordon Daye Villanueva Monroe We need one starter young center...meanwhile we are lottery team with rookie players. I prefer lose with Daye,Jonas,Gordon and Moroe to play for the 9 or 10 position of east conference...We could have Wall or Cousins(i like monroe but wall or cousins play at PG and center, the positions we need reinforce). I did´t talk about trades in our starting five until we know Joe move.... Ben Wallace and Wilcox surely have injurys who put Monroe on the center position. I hope Monroe and Villanueva normally play PF 20/25 min game. Maxiel will be the last player in center and PF position.
Maxiell started like a 14 game stretch at center along side Jerebko at the end of the year last year. It's possible that he might be our back up center, in the mold of a junior Big Ben. This may be why joe isn't so quick to get out the checkbook and sign Louis Admunson.
Starting 5 (beginning of the year): Stuckey Hamilton Prince Jerebko Wallace Starting 5 (after mid-year trades of Prince/Hamilton for expiring contracts/Capp Spayce/draft picks): Stuckey Daye Jerebko Monroe Wallace
I would say we "tied" the lottery, we could have slide back 3 slots.... The lottery you could argue we lost was with Darko, if that pick could have ended up being number one yes we wouldn't have gotten it but we would have gotten another high pick the next year (I think that was how the pick was protected, or we could have ended up with 3. Darko would have still gone #2, and we would have gotten Wade or Carmelo.
This is the beauty of the Pistons team to me. Despite all the cries over low post play etc. this team is designed to be a guard dominated team, yet if you combined all the guards strengths into one body you still wouldn't have a complete player.
Yeah. You'd have an average-defending, no-faciliitating, streaky-shooting combo guard that needs to run through eight screens before driving into the teeth of the defense and getting his shot swatted into the 8th row.
