Will they be on the Pistons sideline next year?

Call me a homer or crazy, but I think it might be beneficial to have someone on board who used to overwhelm your game plans.

Do you think having the smallest staff of assistants in the league (Sponsored by Tommy "All In" Gores) helps or hurts the Pistons?

I say it hurts. There's no way Brendan Malone makes it through the year without falling asleep at a game.

He should be home watching Matlock and Murder She Wrote.

I think John Loyer (27 years of coaching) brings way more to the table than Rasheed (1 year of coaching).

Depends what you want them to bring to that table. Add playing experience to that 1 year of Sheed's and the numbers get a lot closer. I would think that Loyer and SVG have a lot of overlapping skills, whereas Sheed has different and unique skills. Also unless your players buy in to what you're saying you can bring all the experience you want and it won't make a difference (Hi Lawrence Frank). Sheed brings what Cheeks was supposed to - a guy who has been a player, can communicate to them in their language and garners instant respect for what he has done on the court (Hi Doc Rivers). I'd rather Sheed teaching Dre post moves than Jon Loyer.

Why would loyer need post moves when he has that unstoppable sky hook?

I doubt Sheed can even work the video projector.

Your statement is 100% true for anyone else in the world OTHER than Josh Smith.

On paper, this looks like a good move. The guy has a variety of experience (coaching, scouting, GM, etc.).

Will be good to have a GM that wakes up early and works with our big men on post moves.

Better than a GM that sleeps in late, eats tubs of buttered popcorn, plays with his Blackberry, and doesn't give away assets.

I'm seeing a lot of big names being thrown out there for the Marist job now that Bowser is about to join the Pistons.

I don't blame him, but am I the only one getting the feeling that SVG is maybe a little paranoid?

It seems like his hirings biggest calling card is that they won't stab him in the back.

Browers looks like he got the job because he inadvertently mentioned the Pancake House during the interview.

A lot of the names SVG has lured to the Pistons feel like they've been pulled from the fictitious list of retread coaches basketbills and I were making earlier with Dick Motta and the like on it.

    Randy "Blankety Blank" Pfund? Wow!
