Interesting.... I assume ...Gores is ready to pay lux tax and heavily - definitely necessary for " contending in the future". In NBA top players determine their own future and they usually follow money ( whatever they say publicly).

Gores probably wants to prove that he's good at stuff.

That probably sums it up pretty well right there.

The organization has been the biggest concern/obstacle for awhile now. It's nice that they've tried to address it.

They need to luck their way into a scoring PG next.

I don't know it it's a "rumor". He said at the press conference that he had virtually talked to everybody on the phone already. He also said he had a lenghty phone call with David Falk about how much he values Monroe. Bringing back Monroe seemed like the #1 priority.

Also, SVG is not going to keep Josh Smith around if he doesn't buy in SVG's team-first concept.

What I liked most about the press conference was how he answered the question about the Josh-Greg-Andre line-up. He said something like "There's no question there might be a situation where that line-up work. The question is wether it's your predominant-lineup or not" IIRC.

No they don't. You don't fit the bill if you shoot 35%.

Jennings did look a little better when Smith was out at the end of the year so maybe he can work, but I wouldn't hesitate to draft one if the right guys was there.

They can find 2's and 3's anywhere.

I have watch the words closely that SVG has used about Monroe. He said he really likes Monroe and that Monroe has "great value." He has never said that he wants to keep Monroe, though.

I think he will re-sign Monroe for the right price and listen to offers. But clearly he's aware that Smith CANNOT play SF. I think that if Greg stays, SVG envisions a 3-Big rotation with one of them playing a McDyess type of role.

That one has to be Monroe, sadly.
Because Greg is the only one of those 3 (Smith, Drummond, Monroe) that can play at PF and C.

What if we give Monroe and Smith to the Timberwolves for Love? I know I'm dreaming... But the T'wolves will try to move Love.

Love wants to play for a contending team in a big market.

I think everyone wants to keep Monroe but not for 60mil over 4 years or anything stupid like that.

Ideally if they can keep Monroe for a reasonable amt and trade Smith that would be ideal. Question is what would we have to take on to move Smith.

Singler and Love are bros from back in the day when they were on the come-up in Oregon.
The chance to play with the "face of the franchise" might be all that K-Love needs to take his talents to Auburn Hills.

I just wanted to briefly clear the air about blueadams. He was permanently banned due to repeated violations of the forum guidelines to not engage in personal attacks, both over time and in the last week in particular. I don't like to see regularly contributing members getting banned, in fact I enjoyed reading the debates that ensued from many of his threads and posts.

Thank you all for what you do to contribute to this place. You guys are the reason I log on here every day and read months old game threads just to get caught up. Please continue to do what you do.

Don't mean to stir the pot but he seemed to get made fun of a lot. Many times these "jokes" wrote under the guise of serious but it was obvious and sometimes I cringed thinking how I would react (I'm a sensitive dude). That said there's no excuse for attacks.
