Magic to Pursue Rasheed Wallace, Brandon Bass -- NBA FanHouse
I wouldn't mind seeing Sheed in Orlando. As frustrating as he could be at times, he made the games fun to watch. I think he'd have a blast with D-Ho. Sheed clearly has a great affection for him.
Well since Sheed and Dwight are good friends and they made it to the Finals I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Orlando next year. Nelson/Johnson Carter/Reddick Lewis/Peitrus Sheed/Bass Howard/Gortat Probably the deepest starting 5 next season. Joe D. better get to work.
Sheeds passing ability (something we never maximized) while playing with Carter and Howard would make for some really fun to watch games..
Nice. Guess its about what I expected from him. Have fun trying to hog all the 3-pt shots on that team.
He would fit well in Orlando
Sheed's passing ability could have been maximized if he wasn't always hanging around the three point line.
That roster's not built to last. Carter and Sheed are getting there in age, Lewis will no longer be able to play the four to hide his deteriorating quickness (but he'll always have a jumper). Dwight Howard might be the most overrated player in the NBA. Rashard got them to the finals, not Dwight, whose offense consists of a rolling-right baby hooks and put-back slams. LeBron would eat Rashard alive and we have all seen how often Sheed gets dunked on in the playoffs. Not to mention Shaq breaking Dwight's legs. Cavs = 2009 - 2010 NBA Champs. Williams / Gibson West / Gibson LeBron / Sczerbiak Varejao / Smith / Hickson O'Neal / Ilgauskas / Varejao
Sheed should go. Sorry guys, But I am such a Lebron Marketing Machine hater, I need a legitimate team to beat down Cleveland again.
Perfect fit for him. And a team i could stomach seeing him on.
The best situation for him and his game, KGreg wishes him the best. I know Howard will be glad to not have to play against him anymore.
Having a defender like Rasheed next to him next year would likely help his foul situation as well. Two years with Wallace could really be a learning experience for Dwight.
They get really good with Sheed at the 4, really good. As WE all know Sheed is arguably the best ON BALL post defender in the league, which would allow Howard to play off the ball....his blocks will go through the roof.
I sense that another "felonious" DPOTY award will be handed out next year.
He wasn't last year. Lack of motivation or slowing down? He is going to drive VanGundy crazy.
Who really destroyed Rasheed 1 on 1? Our team was killed predominantly in pick and rolls and one on one penetration from the perimeter. One on one though, I feel that Rasheed was our most solid guy. I know that comparison is not saying much, but I agree with KGreg as far as Rasheeds post defense is concerned. I think Rasheed has some of the best hands this game has ever seen defensively from a big man. Age doesn't affect that as much as it does the athleticism of, for instance, a Ben Wallace.
I realized that not everyone will understand my "felonious" comment to KGreg. YouTube - sheed- felonious interview enjoy!
The outcome is quite scary. Sheed teaching Dwight why he was able to neutralize him so easily and how to avoid that. DHo can become a REAL dominating center with Wallace as a mentor. Then again, Sheed might teach him that playing the post is overrated and he should start practicing fadeaway 3 pointers.
If i was the Magic GM, i would do anything within my power to make this happen. I mean really, what is Patrick Ewing teaching him? He still has no offensive moves.
