I have finished the server move. This new server seems much snappier. I have plans to make it even faster yet. Thanks for your patience last night as I got this done. It took about 4 hours, and if I was better organized, it could have probably been done in 2. If you notice ANY issues, please post to this thread. Thanks in advance for that.
Page loaded very quickly this morning. I think it's faster. I will let you know if I experience sluggishness today. It seems like almost every day around noon my time this site took a long time to load or wouldn't load due to network errors). Possibly a work network issue, but I'm not sure.
It's definitely much faster. Pages really snap now. Likes usually record in one second. It used to take 2~4 seconds for me before. I am really sorry about how slow the site had become. It wasn't that I didn't know, or didn't care, but everything we tried to fix it over the last three months, just didn't work. That's why I have am sort of starting over with regards to server hosting. I finished a second round of optimizations 10 minutes ago. There is one more thing to do yet, but I need to think about how to do it first. As we get closer to zero load and render time, it's all diminishing returns, so I might be able to make the site 100 microseconds faster, which no one would be able to perceive in a head to head test, but I will do it anyway in case we get speed issues later.
It's definitely quick enough that I don't think I would notice a further improvement. Thanks for everything Ros!
It's way too fast already. :-) What's 100 microseconds? The twinkling of an eye? If I blinked would I notice? My eyes are not as fast as they used to be! (Neither is my mind, feet, etc.,etc.)
I would buy you a Shirley Temple, but I'm not allowed in Kamloops. If you ever make it down to Seattle, all the ginger ale you can drink is on me. One thing about the new server. Doesn't seem to support the mobile app. This is a bummer to me. I don't know how many forum users have purchased the app, but it's awesome, and I urge everyone with a smart phone to get it.

I had no problems with vbull. You're just a hyper kenetic cyber tinkerer. If it's not broke quit trying to break it. With so many internet variables, how do you get a control ?
vbull had a problem with you. They called and demanded you be sent to the NBDL. Roscoe had to switch to XenForo just for you.
That's because you had nothing to do with it. The server was fundamentally broken. It had nothing to do with the forum software.
