I really don't have a close knowing of what Scott Perry and George David did for the Pistons Organization so i don't know if this is good news or bad news or "Nobody cares news".
-OK, George, for this part of the interview we're going to do a little roleplay. Let's pretend I'm the potential draftee and you are interviewing him. At this point, we've seen the prospect in a private workout as well as public scrimmages. We like what we see. How do you proceed? -OK, here goes. "Well, that was a great workout, you really pushed yourself hard, I like to see that. I'd like to take a minute and ask a few questions, is that OK?" -"Yeah, sure thing." -"OK great. The first thing I want to ask you is this - you've become accustomed to being the focal point of the offense as a star player at a big-name school competing for a national championship. Now you have the potential of coming into the NBA and needing to become a student of the game again. How well do you think you will react to that type of situation?" -"Oh, well I'm driven to succeed. I'm always gunning to be the starter, to show what I can do, develop my skills. I think I can get better every day as I learn from my teammates and push them to get better as well." -"How would you feel about a stint in Europe?" -You're hired.
1) I don't care that he's gone. Right about the time he got here is right about the time we started sucking, bad. So, whatever. 2) Him leaving to take a lateral position elsewhere? Maybe he thought he was about to be fired?? Maybe he thinks Joe-D is about to be fired?? Maybe he just likes the sunshine??
He really never left. Home-town-all-the-way. His palette of artistic talent is the way of an organizational man. The upper limit of moves and the saturation of eight combinations of those combined paint brushes. These types are typical barometers: the change of wind and pressure over time can make one appear as whole. The center has not imploded, it has merely floated away on butterfly-wings.
That is the old Bill Davidson regime. The Platinum Equity guys are much more tolerant of rude behavior towards the secretaries if the stories are to be believed. I think the real question is who is going to fill George David's spot? The Pistons are sandbagging us with this Scott Perry switcharoo.
He was hired in April of 2008 to his position with the Pistons. My memory tells me we were finishing out our last decent season. His quote upon being hired................................. “It is great to have an opportunity to return to the Pistons organization,” said Perry. “I thank Joe Dumars for giving me the opportunity to continue my career here in Detroit and look forward helping maintain the overall success of the franchise.” Maybe Gores was about to review that statement with Mr. Perry.
Perhaps it's a good move for him. His main job was draft preparation, though. He's switching teams 2 days before the draft?
I don't know this guy from a hole in the wall, but when I saw this announcement, I had the same reaction as many of you did. The timing is odd and it's a lateral move.
