I turned the game on, saw that it was 93-66, watched Stephen Jackson make an uncontested layup over Villanueva, and promptly turned it off in order to throw myself into the comparatively enthralling task of folding baby clothes. So that's my recap: Stephen Jackson went 1-1 on uncontested layups over a five second stretch midway through the fourth quarter. Hope that helps. Have a good night.
From The Detroit News: Motivated Spurs trounce hapless Pistons | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com I realize it's the Spurs and we had a .000000001 chance of beating them on their home floor, but Brandon is right. If you can't come out and play hard against one of the best teams in the league you don't deserve to play. I saw guys like Stuckey and Singler not getting back on defense, not moving their feet and allowing people past them every time down the floor. CV reaching in on D and chucking 3s on offense? Bynum playing street ball... Where are the vets in all this when a 21 year old sophomore has to take it upon himself to get his older teammates to play hard? Where's the coach?
This was the first game of the year that I DVR'd, but elected not to watch. I allowed myself to peak at the score figuring that there was no way that we would win. Glad I saved an hour of my life. This one looked miserable. Some really good passing by the Spurs though, judging from the highlights. From the box score, the things that stand out as being strange- Calderon with 2 assists and 0 turnovers with real minutes. Knight looked like he had a bad game, yet still got 6 assists. Charlie V leading the team in rebounding at 10. We blocked 1 shot, the Spurs blocked 9... ouch We had 17 assists to their 35 assists... ouch ouch With about the same number of FGA's, three point makes, and free throw makes, they just made about 20 more shots than us. But Kravtsov with 5 boards in 7 minutes! Did they just fall into his arms or what?
The biggest momentum swing of the game came at the end of the 1st quarter when Middleton fouled Ginobli on a 3-point shot, resulting in a 4-point play, giving the Spurs a 32-19 point lead.
I agree. The Pistons need a wing player that can come in, play a little defense, and score 40 points a night. Get it done, Joe.
lee I blame this loss on you and Frank ! The two of you have the same coaching philosophy, play every scrub 13 deep on the bench so we can see what we have. Mix and match players to the opponent til the opponent is confused with our 13 clowns getting out of a Fiat act.
Have you guys considered that Will Bynum could be that 40 ppg player? All he needs is a regular 47 minutes per game.
he didnt play til the end of the game if memory serves me...but who knows by that time I wasnt paying much attention to the game
I clicked on Otto, but it said his NBA comparison was Tayshaun Prince. Otto Porter | NBADraft.net I clicked on Anthony Bennett, but his NBA comparison was Jason Maxiel. Anthony Bennett | NBADraft.net Low ceiling for these guys....
