It's too early in the season to shorten the rotation to less than 10 players, irregardless of the personnel. (A) Guys aren't in shape to play 35-40 minutes for 50 games, (2) playing guys too many minutes leads to injuries, and (c) having 7 guys on the roster that do not play is not good for team chemistry.

Neither is losing! This ain't rocket science. Right now we're starting 2 Centers and a PF and it's a train wreck.
Bench Drummond. Start Singler. Give me a 3 big rotation: Smith, Monroe and Drummond. Give me a 3 wing rotation: Singler, Pope and Stuckey. Give the backup PG minutes to Bynum. Use JJ or Gigi as backup SF's in case of foul trouble or injury. Use Harrellson in spot situations in case of foul trouble.

How is that different than what Cheecks is currently doing?

Seriously? Are you actually watching the games? I know it sounds minor but it really is just figuring out how to limit he amount of time where Moose is playing PF and eliminate the whole Josh Smith at SF debacle.

LOL. That minor tweak is not going to make a difference. Smith is going to chuck up and miss 70% of his shots no matter what position you designate for him.

Putting him at PF keeps him closer to the basket, it won't eliminate the chucking but it will drastically reduce them.

He had those couple good games posting up. Opponents have adjusted and are providing help and double-teams. Without wing players with consistent outside shooting to compliment Smith, he will not have much room to operate down low. I think he is like Sheed in a way, too. Sure, he can score at will down low, but it's much easier and a lot less work to just settle for the outside J.

Jennings, pope, and singler spread the floor decently. With drummond pick setting and going after board and smith posting and passing, that's pretty standard formula for success.

Half the value of having a guy in the post is drawing the double team, that's how you get good shots on a half court offense. I get so frustrated because we struggle in this area. On the rare occasion the Smith or Jennings passes out of the double team, the person they pass it to holds the ball in a confused state (Monroe and KCP) allowing the defense to recover. Uuggghhh!!!!!!

I agree. I'm just convinced we have the pieces on the current roster to make it work no matter how you mix them around.

    No
No, we don't. But we don't have to be THIS bad either.

I feel like the passes out of the post or to the 3pt shooters in general are frequently off target and/or late.

    A rotation.
First, bring in Laims as GM / Head Coach.

Start Jennings, Pope, Smith, Monroe, Drummond. A starting unit which can beat Charlotte in the two upcoming games we have with them.

2nd unit: Siva, Tony Mitchell (6-6), Tony Mitchell (6-9), (any of Monroe, Drums, Smith staying over with 2nd unit), and Harrellson.

Can a rookie coach like JLo handle having 2 Tony Mitchell's on the team?

Does it make it easier or harder?

The one Tony Mitchell we have doesn't seem that bright.

What if you played 5 young guys together?

    PG - Jennings 24
    SG - KCP 21
    SF - Mitchell 23
    PF - Monroe 23
    C - Drummond 20

There won't be any dip in our FG%, and we'd have a potentially improved defense. The problem is the opposing teams will only need to defend Monroe. We will still win more than half of our games with final scores like 43-41. I like it.
