Well, the article did say that these 3 were starters:

    SF - Smith
    PF - Monroe
    C - Drummond

That will strongly limit the combinatorial explosions that make up the Lee Rotation threads.

Not sure how much it will limit Lee's explosions as you can start subbing 30 seconds into the game. :)

In so many words, Joe basically said the Sammy Meija has just as good a chance as anyone else at the SG spot.

And a trade for Carmelo is not out of the questions as well.

Just how many rotations can I post. I need some new input. Of course, there is such as tall, ball handling, desperate 3 point shot time, defensive, fast break time, etc. rotations to imagine.

Best defensive unit, you got to stop the other team from getting one point for their win, with 20 seconds to go, their ball.:

    Siva, Pope, Mitchell, Smith, Drummond.

Best offensive unit. You have to score that one point to get the win in regulation, 20 seconds to go, your ball.:

    Jennings, Billups, Pope, Smith, Monroe.

Desperate need of a three. Three down, 20 seconds to go, your ball.:

    Billups, Pope, Datome, Smith, CV.

    Tall unit:

    Billups, Datome, Smith, Monroe, Drummond.

Ball handling: You are up, no way to lose as long as you hang on to the ball.:

    Jennings, Siva, Billups, Datome, Smith

    Fast break:

    Jennings, Pope, Mitchell, Smith, Drummond

    Halfcourt game:

    Jennings, Billups, Smith, Monroe, Drummond

    Our worst nightmare: (Small ball)

    Bynum, Jennings, Billups, Datome, Smith

    All youth:

    Jennings, Pope, Mitchell, Monroe, Drummond

How old can you get: (not very)

Bynum, Billups, Datome, Smith (no center qualifies)

    Strength team:

    Stuckey, Billups, Mitchell, Smith, Drummond

    Get them into foul trouble:

    Stuckey, Pope, Smith, Monroe, Drummond

And finally, off topic a bit, a rotation based on Datome being the backup shooting guard. (A friend suggested this could happen - so why not.

Start Jennings, Pope, Smith, Monroe, Drummond

2nd unit: Billups, Datome, Mitchell, (Smith, Monroe, Drummond take turns sitting one at a time. Maybe we pick up a guy like Gooden and go to a nine man rotation.)

    Must score one point unit:

Bynum and Drummond. And whoever else... doesn't matter.

That's risky because Drummond will get fouled.

Who the starters actually are has never gotten in Lee's way before.

As soon as he's in there and anywhere near the ball, he'll get fouled. Until he cleans up his free throw shooting (which will happen), he'll get fouled at the end of every game in which the other team is behind.

Given that Drummond's FT form is acceptable, I'm hopeful that as his conditioning improves, so too will his FT%. Fatigue kills FT touch for big men.

Drummond weighs 290 lbs now with 6% body fat. How much more can his conditioning improve?

He said "must score one point". Drummond is aspiring to that .500 FT%, so this is still viable.

Drummond looked lightyears better on his free throws in the Summer League. Still not always going in, but pretty much every free throw was good form, and either swished in or just missed. And still, we have to see that translate into his NBA game this next season before we can claim he is actually better at the free throw line.

I like to think that it will take two players fouling Drummond to stop him from scoring, and I'm confident that Bynumite can find the open player for the assist and score.

Even if it was just Bynum and Drummond, I still think they could score. They CAN"T BE STOPPED!
