About 5 or 6 weeks ago I had a stroke.

Since then i have had balance and strength issues. memory has been so-so. its very hard for me to make decisions or start anything from scratch.

I have had a few cat scans and a few MRIs.

My doctors didnt know what was going on. neither did I. but i have settled on calling it a stroke so i can move on because being in an undiagnosed limbo is hell to be honest.

I will be walking away from the forum for a bit so I can focus 100% on rehab. Slippy Webz and CJ will be running things from now on. I will try to help them from the sidelines but I want to make clear to everyone this is their forum now. Please support them. Being an admin can be tough because there is always someone giving you grief, please work with these fellas they are some of the best people we have.

I do plan to be back one day but probably only to post. I am yielding the forum to those 3 guys.

It looks like Slippy is going to take over paying the bills. I am going to redirect all donations to him. and give him the forum's savings towards the bills he is going to be taking care of.

Slippy will be making all executive level decisions for the community from now on. Pls remember our core value which is "be nice". Let's support one another like we always do.

In the meantime, all of you are welcome to contact me here on the forum or add me on facebook as a friend ( pm me for details)

I love all of you guys very much. You're some of the best friends and finest people a guy could know.

PS I am recovering although it is very slow. But I am hopeful that I will have a great quality of life down the line.

As I advised you the other day, you are a youngster and this is not supposed to happen to you. But we now know it can. Be strong, relax and take care of yourself my man......we love you for putting this thingy together 9 years ago and will pray that you have a speedy recovery and you can pop in once in awhile and provide some positive vibes here or via Facebook on how you are doing.

You will still be our :masterandcommander:and here is one big like for you man:good: and a group hug from all of us..:smiley hug:

so there is a bundle of nerve fibers which connects the right and left hemispheres of the brain. the Corpus Callosum, I have "lesions" there. if i can get them to export a scan i will post it but it had them stumped for weeks and they did rule out cancer for now anyway.

I realize this is coming out of left field for most folks. i did announce it on fb a few weeks ago. and have been working with slippy/cj and webz to transition smoothly. I will be around but i don't want to undermine those guys who really stepped up in our hour of need.

i was pretty bummed out the first couple weeks but i am over that now a friend gave me great advice which was to get mad and stay mad. so every day i am 100% focused on rehabbing. basically i have to learn how to do everything all over again which is actually pretty cool. i am using this as a casus belli to get my life together and clean up my health. if you have any stroke risk do something about it today. a stroke really sucks it is a big setback but my family and friends have been huge.

I meet with a neuro surgeon next week, to discuss my last mri done tuesday. i will update as there is news but again i am more likely to post that to facebook (where you are welcome to become my friend)

    Sorry to hear,

My advice would be to make sure you get down to the root cause so you know how to avoid another one. Maybe you need blood thinners or other meds to stay healhy.

    take care

    Sometimes there are no words....

If you're feeling sort of down, read one of Darth's posts. That will surely piss you off. If that doesn't work,
try one of Laimbeers's posts. If that doesn't work try one of ....

If you think you're confused, read one of Lee's rotation posts as a test. On second thought, don't read one of
Lee's rotation posts, that may have been the initial problem.

I'm sure the new guys will have the same levelheaded and calming influence that you had.

Lee is not responsible. Kyle Singler is surely to blame for everything that has ever gone wrong.

no big deal. i will triumph over this. my dad had a brain injury and lost his sight. i got off easy.

Wow. I am so sorry to hear about this.

Good luck with everything! I can't talk to recovery from a stroke, but anyone I know who has done intense rehab has always said it is really important to set small goals every day so nothing ever seems too far away. And every time you can tick something off, even though it is small, it is a positive.

I really hope you recover soon Roscoe.

You know there is no such thing as a Disabled list mate. You'll just be hanging with Austin Daye in street clothes for a time. No big deal.

This is where all those old time female posters that we were talking about would come in handy.
