GM, BK and AD in a row. So it's time to get a fresh hand to shoot the crap.

Drummond & Middleton in and Prince & Dumars out in the same season? Put the champagne in the chiller cabinet and go get your party hats, this is better than winning the lottery.

I think Dumars will stay. I don't think Lawrence deserves to.

This team should be hovering around the NBA average. We have seen flashes of it. But poor defensive schemes and terrible rotations have plunged us into NBA purgatory.

Until Wiggles confirms it, these reports are all just speculation to me.

If only one could be fired, I would choose Dumars in a heartbeat.

OMG.. I can barely stand the thought of Stuckey-defendors saying the next year that he is playing bad because he never spent more than 2 seasons with the same Coach...

If Frank gets fired, there is a legitimate case that the Pistons job is the worst head coaching spot in the league. Absolutely no job security.

    As for Joe...shrug.

Are you saying that even Laimbeer wouldn't take it?

He basically said he likes the young players and cap space (GM did his job) but was disappointed in the performance (coach).

My prediction is that both JD and LF are back next year. He won't fire the guy he brought in yet, knowing the history of coach firings here.

Any coach that goes 1-13 in March to get lottery hopes up, and then coaches the team to a 5-3 record in April taking you from a possible 4th or 5th pick to a 8th or ninth in the lottery sweepstakes probably should be fired.......

Next year is a key year as the young core moves forward. I get where Gore's head is at. This young core needs to be coached properly.

I could go either way with Joe. Did he find Drummond and Monroe or did he luck into it from the hapless selections of other GMs before him? How could the organization blow the 5th pick away like this?

But I would lean to giving Joe one more year with the real worry that his recent veteran acquisitions were totally not productive.

I wonder if the Pistons will leave little Lawrence in Brooklyn after the last game so he can be closer to his wife?

It probably wouldn't hurt if Gores showed up to more than 5 games a year also.

It would be weird not having Joe D at the helm.

On Dumars, Gores can say , hey he was not my guy (true) but its hard to justify axing of Lawrence.

Really sounds like, from that last article, that Frank is gone and Dumars is on notice.

Bring in Laimbeer. Sure we may need a more experienced NBA coach when things get serious, but he will do the initial thing that is needed - bring the respect for the uniform back and have them playing hard.

If he can't do that, no one can, and this franchise is really broken.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased at the job that Joe did this year. I'm cool with giving him another year ...I guess.
I'm pleased with all three draft picks last year and stoked on the Tay for Jose deal.

I'm really bummed on the lack of growth within the roster and I put this squarily on the coaching staff. I don't think that little Lawrence has made any current Pistons better than they would have been under any other coach. It's not as bad as it was with Curry but it's pretty bad.

The problem is the fact that the team hires and fires a coach seemingly every season. If the best decision is to send Frank packing, I hope that decision can be made without having to factor in the long unemployment line of recently canned Piston coaches.

...do what's best for the team moving forward without worrying about the perception that Detroit is where NBA coaches go to die.

Bill Laimbeer would give the team an instant identity.
