It is official, the Pistons will open the season on the road in the Mecca of basketball aka New Jersey in a rematch of the 2004 ECF. They play the Seattle Thunder in their home opener 2 nights later. The big news is this though...... I doubt I'll be getting much sleep waiting for that Pacer game folks. Pistons to open regular season on road against Nets | MLive.com
Well with no TNT broadcasts, we never have to hear Barkley say how turrible we are... Even the one ESPN and one NBA TV game are on the road, so only the nationwide LP subscribers will get to hear Mason whisper detroit basketball Then again if we are some how able to win 50 games, then we will be the best team no one ever saw leading up to the post season.
I heard this morning that the Miami has 34 nationally televised games this year. That is the maximum that the league allows. That's going to be HUGE for Shavlik Randolph's Q-rating!
ESPN might have to run a split screen of LeBron and Wade trying on sunglasses to get people to tune into that Piston - Pacer clash.
34 games ??That's enough for each of the 29 other teams to get at least one televised game with them, but I suspect that at least 25 of those games are with the Lakers, Celtics, Magic, Bulls, Thunder, Nuggets and probably one with the Cavs which will probably broadcast on ESPN, with them running an encore presentation of The Decision at halftime. But alas, after the first 30 nationally televised games, the novelty will wear off and no one will tune into the last four due to over exposure.
