He has to learn about intensity. Disappeared at time.
Kravtsov will not hurt this ball club.
    Pope, nothing but jitters.
Middleton was the best player today and he could slide into a 2 spot.
Drum at the FT line is frightening.

I think your final point is an important one. Drummond has to figure this out. Teams will play hack-a-Dre which will force Mo to remove Drummond from the floor during crunch time of close games.

Luckily, we just can just put him on the bench and stick in Smith/ Drummond. A little drop off, but still an above average duo.

Tony Tony Mitchell's athaleticism makes Josh Smith look like a corpse. He had a few ridiculous plays. Based on 1 summer game I think he'll play this year.

I thought Luscious looked better also. He's not a rookie though, right?

    English filled out a little.

    I like Middleton.

Yea, Lucious is a rookie. He transferred to Iowa State and played for one season after getting kicked out of MSU.

Pretty funny picture of the Singler bros in action. I think one is enough for our needs this year.

KCP struggled with his shot today but man does he have some lift. Did you see him when he swatted that one layup attempt? That's stuff you can't teach. Even when he got dunked on, he contested it and did not shy away from contact. His shots will come in due time but I liked what I saw today even if his shots were not falling.

I DVR'd it and haven't watched it. It's tough to get excited to watch our new pick when I already know he had a miserable night shooting. Most interested in seeing how Mitchell looked.

I though the Pistons missed Austin Daye's leadership early on in this one. Someone else is going to have to step up.

Kidd letting Frank draw up plays. Great pickup. I don't know about Frank's game management but his X/O was pretty good to me.

Every summer league I look for evidence that we'll have some good young guys come in and contribute. This year's opening game was simply electrifying. Drummond's taken a big step forward but has a lot of ground to cover. All he needs is to create a stable base on which to pivot and go up straight and elongate. He still plays like a guard in the post. The blocks and steals were amazing even at this level. The nets man defense was a lot more intense but between Drummond, Kravstov, Mitchell, and KCP, they stopped a lot of shots at the rim.

Middleton and English should have spent more time in the D-league and I hope Siva and Mitchell go down there for significant amounts of time. Both Kim and Khris looked comfortable and seasoned. I'd peg Middleton as the starting shooting guard unless Stickey finds a jump shot. English does seem to have his limits but I still like him as a 10th man for 3 and D. Middleton showed some nifty shake and bake moves and a confident jump shot.

Siva looked like that guy who runs the point in summer league and doesn't make the team. He got into the lane and made good dishes to the open man. He did look out matched early on but got a key steal down the stretch. Mitchell did seem to disappear as other folks have said but it looked like the Pistons were looking for Drummond on the offensive side and Mitchell was still working on the defensive end.

KCP couldn't hit the side of a barn but the athleticism stood out.

I liked what I saw from Middleton but his ceiling is Singler, it don't see him starting.

The concern with Middleton, in my mind at least, is his ball handling and athleticism. He's showing the ability to hit shots. Interesting comparison to Singler. Hopefully, Middleton can prove us wrong.

Which Singler brother are you comparing him to?

It's worth noting that the reason that Kyle Singler didn't play was because he asked to sit. He thought the young guys (i.e., his brother?) needed this playing time more than he did.

    Drummond sitting out today.

Starters are 3 rookies, English, TRG

Slow start for the good guys. Boston up 8-0.

Pistons trail 15-5 with 3 left in the 1st. KCP has all 5pts, nice 3-pointer from the corner and a breakaway layup after a Celtic passed the ball to him.

TRG looks bad. He can't jump or run with these guys.

Siva put up a couple of brick jump shots. Not pretty.
