I didn't remember any hard fouls late so I rewatched it and it is basically Ben just smacking the ball/Collins' hands from behind towards the basket. There's no way it could have caused an injury unless Collins' hands were made of peanut brittle or something. Calling it "eerie" or "ugly" is bizarre.
Waddaya wanna bet that this "spy" was Larry Bird? There is a difference between a winning team fouling hard in a "done game" and a losing team maintaining some pride in a loss.
