    Lindsey re-signs

The Pistons got their first commitment of the free agency period from Lindsey Hunter, who will sign a two-year deal worth about $4.5 million. He can't sign the deal until July 12.

Oh, it gets better for Hunter.

When his contract is up, Hunter will also be given a position within the organization, primarily assisting president of basketball operations, Joe Dumars.

"That's what makes this all really special, an opportunity to work with Joe when my playing days are over," Hunter said. "I'm looking forward to playing, but I'm also looking forward to what lies ahead for me when I'm done playing, too."

Hunter said the Phoenix Suns showed a lot of interest, but his desire was to return to Detroit.

"This is where I wanted to be," Hunter said. "I wasn't real thrilled with the idea of moving my family, so this worked out great."

In all likelihood, Hunter will be Chauncey Billups' backup at the point, with the third point guard possibly being rookie Will Blalock or second-yeard guard Alex Acker, who is a shooting guard who got most of his practice last season primarily at the point guard position.

Pistons lose Ben but keep Hunter? Ok, I feel better now. Bedtime.

I'm glad Hunter is back. Doesn't quite make up for losing Ben, but its better than losing both of them.

[SARCASM]Wait a second. Hunter is a defensive specialist. What were the Pistons thinking? Defence? We don't need no stinking defence![/SARCASM]

Thanks roscoe for some good news to help stop the bleeding:). Maybe if we just get some experienced 7 footer who can give us some O we can do something. Resigning Kelvin sounds good, but Sheed needs to be on his good side next season:fingerscr.

I was being sarcastic about feeling better. This is like finding out you didn't win the $100 million dollar lottery, but instead get a free ticket for next week's draw.

Announce BS like this on a night when the Ben news comes out. And he gets a frickin raise to boot, on a team that is tight fisted.

Yeah, I noticed that too. But we all know that money is no object to this organization.

    Thanks Mr. D!

There's no better way to thank the fans that sell out your arena and line the pockets of your $10 suits than to kick the fan favourite to the curb because he's no longer underpaid.

[SARCASM]Actually, Hunter is in the process of gaining 80 lbs so he can play a hybrid 3/4 and back up Tay.[/SARCASM]

The difference between winning and losing is only 10,000 Members Only jackets. 9,000 Members Only jackets if you take away the fake boobs on your wife.

That's what I am talking about. Lindsay has character as well as a deep siense of loyalty.

Shows that its not all about dollars & sense.

    Thanks Roscoe for the info.

I hope the Bulls lose every game next season and Ben gets all the blame. I hope he never gets the ball. I hope he somehow makes the all star team with all that happening along with Tay, CB, Sheed, and Rip. Then all 5 guys come in and have the best game they ever have and Ben regrest leaving Detroit.

Ben isn't a Kobe, or AI. He isn't the man, and Chicago gave a big hit to the Pistons right now and they probably gave a big hit to their future.
