With the team sold the Pistons can finally start making some moved. Probably going to be a lot of speculation, some with basis and others not. Here is one that could have some substance to it since they passed on a 2nd round pick for Prince last season.

Chris Kaman is a few years younger than Prince and not afraid to play the low post.
Ben could give him a few tips on how to buy a luxury car....

This is a weird one. I don't know how Kaman and Monroe would pair together. They seem kind of similar especially in their weaknesses of being non-athletic.

Kaman's deal runs out next year, but Prince's is up now. Why would Kaman coming off the books be more valuable than Prince coming off now?

Oh yeah, for Dwight Howard!!! Do it Joe!!!!

I get the impression that JD plans on trying to keep Kman if we get him. He has been trying to trade for him for a few years now.

JC, Kman , Monroe - does not sound too bad to me. That front court would rock. I hope it gets done.

    I'd love to see a Monroe/Kaman high-low offensive game.

Kaman wouldn't work well here for the reasons that Ernie mantioned.

I would assume that Al Jefferson would be attainable from Utah. I get the feeling that Utah regrets that contract. However, I'd bet they won't make that move yet; they probably would want to see what Favors and Kanter can do in the big league first. Anyways, to get Jefferson, we'd have to S&T two players to Utah. I'd say ship Stuckey & Prince to Utah for big Al.

Well, let's take a look at who we have under contract:
    PG: Knight, Bynum
    SG: Rip, Gordon, White
    SF: Daye
PF: CV, Maxiell, Macklin (assuming we sign him)
    C: Monroe, Wallace

    Restricted FAs: Stuckey, Jerebko

I think it's a strong possibility that we sign JJ to a deal. I've always thought he was better as a 3, so between him and Daye I think we got the SF spot covered. Even if we don't sign Stuckey, we're good with guards. We desparately need a starting PF and a serviceable backup C to pitch in when Monroe gets in foul trouble. Big Ben is 37 and he's got real-life issues to deal with so I don't expect him to play more than spot minutes. The good news is, looking at the list of FAs available, we should be able to fill the "serviceable backup C" position cheaply this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of chemistry Knight & Monroe will develop. If those two end up fitting well together, they might become "the" foundation to build around.

I wonder what type of expectations we as fans should have when we're still looking for most of our foundation pieces. We're looking at another new coach...several former players who we may re-sign...free agents who can truly help our team...a new owner whose expectations are only speculation at this point....JD, who seems to have lost his magic....how will the utes fit in...again.

Have you heard the rumors that said that Prince may give Joe D a chance to re-sign him?

What you think about it? Is it good if we sign Prince and NOT for a sign-and-trade?

I still have dreams about Josh Smith here.. don't know why but I think that Joe D may be conspiring all this years to play this magnificent card.

For this franchise to move forward, both Tay and Rip need to go.

I don't think Joe's been doing much of anything other than perspiring these last few years.

I don't have a huge problem with Tay. He's interested in strategy, pretty selfless, durable, unique, and versatile. These players have had to put up with some unbelievable incompetence from coaching and management, not to mention all of the ownership issues. I would have been very frustrated if I were a former champion/ veteran stuck on this team too.

Don't like his attitude. A ship can only have one captain. And one Darth Tattoo.
