Don't want to be that guy... but just to put this win in perspective

    Philly's starting lineup:
    McConnell ($875K)
    Stauskas ($3M)
    Covington ($1M)
    Saric ($2.3M)
    Holmes ($1M)

We just beat up on a starting unit that is getting paid $8.175 Mil this season.

We are paying Gbinije, Hilliard, Ellenson, Jovanovic, and Josh Smith Josh Smith $8.590 Mil this season. A fair fight would have been to trot them out there to see how they'd do.

Our actual bench players that touched the court tonight are taking down $41.5 Mil this season.

But still, you gotta beat your opponent no matter who it is. It's good to see that we didn't play down to the competition.

Stauskas actually looks pretty decent. Very efficient shooting.

Larry Bird was personally making more than their entire starting lineup 25 years ago.

Michael Jordan was personally making 4 times that amount 20 years ago.

Tom Gores owns a personal residence that is 12 times the amount (the house includes several head tilting features, including 20 bathrooms, a 10 car garage, a plethora of swimming pools both indoor and outdoor, an indoor waterfall, a beauty salon with manicure and pedicure stations (???), a wine room, a movie theater with its own valet entrance, a 5,300 sf master suite (??), some private hiking trails, and a 2,400 sf walk in polo shirt closet.

Tom is a baller and an Original Gangster.

SVG is trying his hardest because he knows that Tom's final judgement may have mortal consequences.

What a game! This wasn't about the score or the opponent it was about how they played. Gone were the pull-up 3's with a full clock and in its' place were a bunch of shots from 15' and in. RJ did a great job at this. Now when the Pistons shot 3's it came from inside with 5 seconds left on the shot clock.

This I think is who the Pistons are. They are an aggressive body punching team who never stop leaning on you. Stay the course and win the 48 minute battle.

I love what Van Gundy did with the rotation. RJ and Ish don't cross paths - you can prolly say the same about Drummond/Baynsey - but the rest of the guys all played together..

The Pistons are one guy short with the tightened rotation. Leuer can't do what they need him to do which is protect the rim on D. Like Baynsey last year I don't think they'll be able to play him in the playoffs.

I don't know why they didn't go after Terrance Jones to play a defensive role but the fact he signed with Milwaukee tells me they didn't even try.

Check out the way these guys were interacting with each other during the game. The team is starting to come together.

Terrible, terrible job by Van Gundy during GT. Why couldn't Udrih play? Does Ellenson have a big D-League came coming up?

Maybe Van Gundy is worried their pace will all go poof if they go full GT.

    Ellenson was in a suit.

Pistons are supposed to wear nut-huggers.

I agree...I wonder if he was too obsessed with looking for trading partner for RJ, that he forgot to look at other issues that could help like the occasional defense lapses. Jones has everyday NBA experience more so than Bullock ,Boban, Hiilliard and Stanley and could easily slotted into the lineup when we needed a defensive power forward to play with Dre or even with Baynes. In fact at 6'9 and 30 pounds heavier than Leuer he could have even played an occasional center.....after all Big Ben was 6'9 and anchored our middle successfully. Jones is no Big Ben, but it appears that all other teams in the mix, contenders and pretenders tried to pick up one of the players released since the trading deadline.

I too agree asking why Beno didn't get into play in GT.....he is one of the biggest cheerleaders on the bench and helped us to the .500 record before Reggie showed up... :) Give the dude some PT.....blowouts don't come up that often.

Beno is pretty decent. He's different than a young 3rd stringer looking for PT. He prob didn't care if he got put in.

Agreed. A veteran like that may almost be insulted to play 2 minutes of garbage time. It would be nice to throw him into some meaningful minutes once in a while, but I don't see that happening barring an injury to Reggie or Ish.

He could play the small ball 5 that Leuer can't.

Harris and Morris are their best forward pair but they can't play together for too long because of their size. Start Jonesey for 5 minutes a half, establish the pace and the bring Harris on.

If Philly's whole team was available and the Pistons won I wouldn't consider it a big win.

The Pistons are starting - I hope - to play consistently. That's what I like.

He can't get credit for overcoming the roster when he assembled it.

How would you grade him since he's been in Detroit on each of his two duties?
