I'm not sure what the team is playing for anymore.
One might say the playoffs, but a .400 team qualifying...:noidea:
One might feel that tanking is a good choice, but...:nono:
There are those who like the coach, but...
Maybe our players will start to jell, but the reality is...:ballchain:
Maybe we're just destined to clean up this :poop::poop::poop: during
the offseason and start over AGAIN.....
I just can't help feeling a bit...:gaah: over this mess.

    Pistons 98 - Philly 95 (I think)

This is the first coach in a long time that no one has bothered to defend.

Not even BillLaimbeer, the patron saint of coaches.

Yeah, players' coaches that aren't winning are pretty useless. The only point of a player's coach is to keep God teams from burning out.

L Frank seemed like a decent coach to me. He just needed to pay dre and he probably would have kept his job.

At some point we need to stop blaming the coach for not getting their best players who all play the same position onto the court and look at the folks running the team.

The Charlotte Hornets didn't sign Horace Grant when they had Zo and Larry Johnson.

I don't think any coach would do a whole lot better out of this dysfunctional roster, but I haven't seem much out of Cheeks in terms of leadership, energy, communication, improvement, strategy, etc. Right now, I would put him in the same class as Michael Curry, Alvin Gentry and George Irvine. I would take Lawrence Frank and John Kuester over Cheeks.

I never had a problem with Carlisle or Saunders.

Saunders would be good for this team due to our offensive ineptitude.

That's why a 'players coach' is perfect as an assistant. They can play 'good cop' while the hard-ass, x and o's, student of the game, history of success coach just gets the job D-O-N-E!

I love Special K trying to put a positive spin or find a reason for Jennings jacking a 3 in transition other than 'just cos he wants to'.
His explanation was that Jennings had the vision to see Drummond had good position for the offensive rebound so if he missed it was a guaranteed 2 anyway.

Jennings' percentage on pull ups in transition is over 40% I believe. It's about his only efficient shot... and we get the rebs more of the time too. Don't discourage him.

Great game by the Pistons. Everyone played well.

I thought Cheecks did a good job tonight especially early with the quick short Drummond rest.

I liked it when Jennings threw the ball at Turner in retaliation for the shot he took at KCP.

Very brief writeup. The Pistons took care of business vs. a team that is very, very bad. Singler had a good stat line, but note, he played as much as anyone and managed to be plus 3 for the game. We did not need any particular person for this one, beyond our starters who totally dominated Philly.

To start the game, we virtually were getting every possible offensive rebound. And we got a double digit lead. Which never increased after Singler came in late in the 1st quarter. Singler played the rest of the half. And most of the 2nd half. And that magical ability to get all those offensive rebounds of course left. Again, Singler got a lot of stats, but against a very poor team. In no way was he any kind of key for us winning this one.

In all, our starting unit only played about 10 minutes, because Stuckey subbed in early 1st for Pope, and Singler came in early in the 3rd for Drums when he got his 4th foul.

The less Jennings and Smith do, the better this team is. Josh was making the extra pass and it paid off. The team is at is best going thru Monroe. Jennings used a pick with some hesitation in a way the Knight never could. He needs to learn to play basketball and he'd be great. Smith too. He's a great passer, a real threat and when he's not jacking, he is a great asset. Bad teams make you look good but they weren't relying on hero ball in this game.
